The UV marks may be examined on the surface of the document when it is put on the viewing table of the device. The IR marks and IR blink marks can be examined on the 7" LCD of the device. When the IR marks are being inspected on the display, a 20-fold zoom mode makes it possible to check the structure of the mark lines without the video magnifier.
Anti-Stokes luminescence can be observed on the document at the point of laser focusing (see. Fig. 1). Upon de tection of the Anti-Stokes the audio signal is generated (this function can also be deactivated through on-screen menu). The information about the presence and type of applied luminophore is displayed on the monitor.
The prese nce of magnet ic ink is con trolled by th e b uilt-in ma gnetic sensor. Upon detection of magnetic ink the short audio signal is generated.
The device has an additional video input that makes it possible to display video from an external video signal source, for example, from a CCTV camera. The video output may be used for transmitting the image to an external display or a computer.

Examine spect the UV-marks on the banknote (document) surface. The «Fan» method of verification is also permitted when several documents (e.g. banknotes) are placed on the device viewing table stacked in a fan shape. If a simultaneous verification of the IR marks is required, use the tV key to select the zoom 1x image on the display (message «Zoom 1x» shall appear on the display). Then the UV-marks may be viewed directly on the document surface, and the IR marks is on the display screen in the same scale.
CONTROL OF ANTI-STOKES LUMINESCENCE
Place a banknote o r a d ocume nt on the device viewing table thus the fragment of a banknote which consists Anti-stokes luminescent area is under
t he z one of IR l aser. Keep t he a rea of lase r radiation awa y from a di rect sunlight or a direct light of an external source. Otherwise a n observation of Ant i-stokes luminesce nce and a recognition of a luminophore type will be troublesome or even impossible; in this case a message «OVEREXPOS» is appeared on the screen of the device. Press IR i n th e op eration mod e me nu and sele ct A nti-Stokes in t he opened submenu. When the senso r detects an Ant i-stokes response, the device switches off the white light to let a user observes this response as small light point. A message «Mx TYPE» (where a digit «x»means a certain type of luminophore) has to appear on the screen.
The verification of Anti-stokes mark is recommended to carry out in the following order: – control the presence of luminophore lighting in the part of banknote with
anti-stokes mark; – compare the color of luminophore lighting with the color indicated in the
banknote security features map; – compare the mark type (М1, М2, М3, etc.) with the mark type indicated in
the banknote security features map.
If an unknown type of luminophore has been detected, a message «UNKNOWN» is appeared on the screen. If there is no Anti-stokes luminescence, a message «NO A/S» is appeared.
VERIFYING MAGNETIC MARK
The verification of magnetic marks is active in all operation modes except Anti-Stokes mode. Pass a part of banknote, which has a magnetic mark, cross the head of induc tive sens or. At the d etection of magnetic ma rk the au dio signal will be generated. To improve the quality of magnetic marks control, for ex ample for verification of wo rn- out ba nkn ote , put the banknote on the magnetic bias area for several seconds.
VERIFYING IR MARKS
Place a banknote or a document on the viewing table. Use the TV key () to select the required zoom. To verify the chart of the IR marks, use zoom 1x. Zoom 20x i s used if i t is ne cessary to study in de tail th e st ructure of the document part visible at IR light. In this case, use the on-screen menu to adjust the required brightness and the contrast of the image on the display. Observe the IR marks on the screen.
VERIFYING IR BLINK MARKS
Place a banknote or a document on the device viewing table. The document inside the devic e shall avoid direct sunlight or the lig ht from powerful inc ande scen t la mps. Oth erwi se inspection of the mark will be diffic ult or

absolutely impossible. Choose built-in camera with no magnification (1x) as a source of signal. Switch on the verifying IR blink marks mode by pressing the IR key () – the «IR Blink» me ssage sha ll be dis played. I f it is r equired, adjust the required brightness and contrast of the image on the display . The IR blink marks should clearly blink with an interval of about 2 times per second. A repeated pressing of the IR key (message «IR» shall be displayed) switches off the mode.
REFLECTED LIGHT CONTROL
You can use a source of top white light or a source of oblique white light for the reflected light control. Place a banknote or a document on the viewing table of the detector. Use
DL key () for switching on a sou rce o f top white light (a message «TOP WHITE» i s app eared on the screen ) or a source of oblique whit e light (a
message «Oblique white» is appeared on the screen). Examine a banknote (or a document). These mod es are ideal f or control of suc h s ecurity featur es as colo r variable inks and latent imag es. Besides that, you can evaluate a height of printed eleme nts, since high elements are produced remarkable shad ows under oblique light. The detector is used LEDs o f high brightness as sources of whi te light, therefore WE STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT LOOK AT SOURCES OF
WHITE LIGHT.
VERIFYING MARKS, PRINTED BY OPTICAL VARIABLE INKS (OVI)
Place a banknote or a document on the device viewing table. To obtain the most obvious change in color, the banknote shall be either in the middle of the viewing table or closer to its back edge. Press the DL key () to switch on the mode of a varia ble color ink inspection (me ssage «Variable color» will be displayed). Monitor the color of the marks printed in a variable color ink. The given mo de is distinguished by a periodical switchi ng over of the angl e of incidenc e of the top white light to the ba nknot e. Due to this, the bank note security mark printed in the variable color ink alternately changes its color . The color of the marks shall change within the limits specified in description of the banknote security feature s. If a mark on the banknote does not chang e its color in compliance with the description, the banknote may be counterfeited, that‘s why the other authenticity marks need verification. Visibility of the mark sh all c hange on b ankno tes o f s om e c ur ren ci es, for examp le, o n eur o banknotes. Next pressing of the DL key switches o ff the white illuminati on source.
CONTROL WITH VERIFYING IN WHITE TRANSMITTED LIGHT AND IR TRANSMITTED LIGHT
Place a banknote or a document on the viewing table. Press the DL key () to switch on the bottom illu mination source ( the «Bottom White + IR» message will be displayed). The sou rce inside the viewing ta ble is emitted simultaneously white light and transmitted IR light; meanwhile the top source of IR light is switched off. The mode is good for verification of the watermarks and imprinted metalized stripes with drawing, micro perforations etc. The screen shows the image obtained at its transmission by IR-rays. It makes possible to examine wate rma rks an d markings on th e m eta lized stripes wi th bet ter contrast;this mode is good for Euro banknotes control. The best way of micro pe rf or at io n control i s 20 x zo om mode . Th e authentic h ol es o f micro perforations are located with a constant pitch, have a round form and the same size; there is not observed any darkeni ng of paper or its thickening at their edges.
SIZE CONTROL
To check the dimensions of the banknotes and the accuracy of the sepa- rate marks located on them, use the control scale applied on a matt glass of the viewing table.
