Infrared communication of phonebook data with FOMA terminals of
other companies
When sending the phonebook data from SA700iS to FOMA terminal of other
companies, the edited group name of Group 0 on the sender's terminal is not taken over to the receiver's FOMA terminal of other companies.
If the phonebook data which Group number is over 20, and is sent from FOMA
terminals of other companies to SA700iS, all applicable data are registered to Group 0 in SA700iS. And the name of Group 0 is overwritten to the group name of Phonebook data last sent at that time.
Upper conditions are also applied for the memory copy on changing the
model or repairing the terminals.

DoCoMo W-CDMA System
Thank you for purchasing FOMA SA700iS mobile terminal.
Both before and during use of FOMA SA700iS mobile terminal, be sure to thoroughly read this manual and instruction manuals that come with the battery pack and other devices to ensure you are able to correctly use FOMA SA700iS mobile terminal. Contact "General service inquiries" on the back of this manual for details. FOMA SA700iS mobile terminal will be your able partner. Treated with care, use FOMA SA700iS far into the future.

Before Using FOMA Mobile Terminal

• Because FOMA terminal uses radio waves, it may not function in locations where it is difficult for radio waves to penetrate, such as tunnels, underground passages and some buildings, in areas where radio wave signals are weak, or when outside the service area. Even when you are high up in a tall building or condominium and nothing blocks your view outside, FOMA terminal may not be able to receive or transmit signals. Also, communication may be interrupted even when the signal meter on FOMA terminal indicates there is a strong signal and you are not moving (traveling).
• Use FOMA terminal in a way that does not disturb others in public spaces, crowded locations or quiet places.
• Because FOMA terminal uses radio waves to communicate, there is a possibility that third parties may attempt to listen in on your calls. The W-CDMA system automatically supports a confidential communication function for all calls so even if someone should somehow be able to tap a call, the signals are modified so that the eavesdropping party will hear only noise.
• FOMA terminal encodes voice communication as digital data. When you are operating FOMA terminal while moving to a location subject to weaker radio wave signals, the transmitted digital data may not be correctly decoded and as a result the decoded voice may differ somewhat from the actual voice.
• Keep a separate written record of the data you register in FOMA terminal. If the data should be erased, DoCoMo assumes no responsibility for the loss of any data.
• The user hereby agrees that the user shall be solely responsible for the result of the use of SSL. Neither DoCoMo nor the certifier as listed herein makes any representation and warranty as for the security in the use of SSL. If the data should be erased, DoCoMo assumes no responsibility for the loss of any data. Certifier: VeriSign Japan K.K., Betrusted Japan Co., Ltd., GeoTrust Japan, inc.
• This FOMA terminal supports FOMA plus area.
• FOMA terminal can be used only via the FOMA network provided by DoCoMo.

Reminder for charging
Effective usage of the battery pack
Use the battery pack exclusive for FOMA terminals.
For details on handling the battery pack, refer to the battery pack manual.
In the extremely low, or high temperature such as in the closed cars in summer time, battery power
reduces and shortens the time for use. Also life span is shortened. Use in normal temperature.
Battery pack life is limited. When the battery pack is charged and not recovered the original power or
only can use for limited time, the battery pack is out of life. Purchase a new battery pack of the specified type.
The battery pack life is approximately 1 year. However, life span may be shortened depending on usage
frequency.
Before using SA700iS
To promote environmental conservation, be sure to return your used battery pack to NTT DoCoMo sales outlets, our corporate agencies or the shops that collect used battery in your community.
Charging
Do not charge the battery for an extended period (several days) with FOMA terminal powered on.
When charging for an extended period with FOMA terminal powered on, the power is supplied from the battery pack of FOMA terminals after completing charge. Alarm may be sounded to use only for a short period of time because the battery is used. In this case, charge with the correct procedure. Before charging the battery again, remove FOMA terminal from AC adapter (or desktop holder) or DC adapter and reconnect it.
Charge the battery when not using for a long time.
With FOMA terminals powered on during charging, phone calls or mails can be received. However,
charging time is to be longer.
The battery pack cannot be directly charged. Be sure to charge with mounting to FOMA terminals.
