Important Safety Instructions, please Read Carefully!
This unit is meant to reproduce audio signals in 5.1- or stereo format. Using it in any other way warranty invalidates the warranty and you risk electric shock.
Never attempt to open the housings of your surround speaker set or to service the product beyond that described in this manual. All servicing or repair must be referred to qualified service personnel authorised by us.
To avoid the risk of electric shock never use the product in humid areas or near water - e.g. near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool, or the like.
This unit is intended for use with the mains voltage indicated on the unit’s back label. Never try to use it with different voltage supply.
Proper air circulation around the housing - especially at the subwoofers rear side - must be provided to avoid overheating.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands or use a damaged power cord. Otherwise you face risk of life by electric shock.
If objects have fallen inside or liquid has been spilt onto the product disconnect the plug from the mains immediately and consult qualified service personnel.
Never let children play with the unit or stick anything into it. Otherwise the child faces the risk of electric shock.
Do not place the unit near strong magnetic fields, water or heat. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a longer period. Avoid positions with heavy dust or poor ventilation. The unit should not be exposed to mechanical vibrations or shock.
If you put off your home cinema system to standby, it is not separated from the mains power system. Thus, put off the devices with the POWER switches on the back side of the devices or always pull the power plugs out of the socket if you don’t use the system for a longer period of time.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands! Never use a damaged power cord to avoid risk of life by electric shock.
After disconnection from the mains you can use a soft damp cloth to clean the housing. Don’t use strong cleansing products.

Setting up the system
You can mount the speakers of your new home cinema system on a plane and stable surface. You can, however, also hang up the centre, surround and front boxes on the wall. The back sides of the satellite boxes have an according hanging possibility. The stand of the subwoofer should be located close to a properly connected power socket. In order to ensure a sufficient ventilation, the subwoofer must not be operated behind curtains or the like. Possible ventilation openings of the devices must not be covered by newspapers, curtains etc. With regard to the electrical and acoustic characteristics, all satellite speakers are identical and magnetically shielded.

Operating elements on the subwoofer
on the front . . .
1. IR - infrared sensor, receives the remote control signals

1) AUX INPUT
Here you can connect stereo audio signals to the STEREO input (e.g. the audio output of a TV set or a CD player).
2) 5.1 CH INPUT
FL Please connect here the input signal for the left front speaker. FR Please connect here the input signal for the right front speaker. SL Please connect here the input signal for the left surround speaker. SR Please connect here the input signal for the right surround speaker. CE Please connect here the input signal for the centre speaker. SW Please connect here the input signal for the subwoofer.
3) SPEAKER OUTPUTS
To connect the speaker boxes to the subwoofer’s output terminals we recommend using the speaker cables enclosed.
Front Right - Connect the right front speaker to the +/- terminals. Front Left - Connect the left front speaker to the +/- terminals. Surround Right - Connect the right surround speaker to the +/- terminals. Surround Left - Connect the left surround speaker to the +/- terminals. CENTER - Connect the centre speaker to the +/- terminals.

4) POWER ON/OFF
Using this power switch you connect the unit to the mains and activate it.
5) AC IN - Power Cable
Power cord for AC230V~ mains voltage.
Hook up
In order to avoid malfunctions and / or damage of the speakers or other connected devices, please establish all connections while the device is switched off. Please take care to connect the white marked wires of the speaker cable with the red terminal of both the subwoofer and the speakers. Connect the black wire with the black terminals. Otherwise the sound will be spoiled and the main unit or the speakers may be seriously damaged.
Caution:
Please take care that the blank portion of wires connected to the terminals never get in contact with each other. Otherwise the resulting short circuit will seriously damage the unit.
Before the connection please twist the strands.
Then open the speaker terminal and stick in the blank wire. Then close the terminal.

Connecting the Speakers
1. Connect the left front speaker with the FL +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
2. Connect the right front speaker with the FR +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
3. Connect the right surround speaker with the SR +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
4. Connect the left surround speaker with the SL +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
5. Connect the centre speaker with the CEN +/- terminals at the back side of the subwoofer.
Connecting Audio Sources
1. Connect the 5.1 input (5.1 CHANNEL INPUT) at the subwoofer’s back panel to devices
providing audio signals via separated outputs for front, surround, centre, and subwoofer, e. g. DVD players.
2. Connect the AUX input at the subwoofer’s back panel to stereo devices like television,
CD players, or cassette tapes.
The Remote Control
Take out the remote control handset from the package. Open the battery compartment. Insert two batteries (1,5 V, size AAA). Please make sure the polarity matches the marks inside the compartment. Otherwise the r/c will not work and may be damaged. Replace the cover.
Should the r/c start to work unreliably replace both batteries. We recommend using alcaline batteries. Please point the r/c towards the main unit when calling up functions. No obstacles may stand in the way between r/c and infrared sensor. The green operation LED will flash when the unit receives signals from the remote control.
If you won’t use the r/c for a week or longer, please remove the batteries from the compartment, to prevent damage by leakage.
Batteries must not be disposed by ordinary refuse disposal. Please lead empty batteries towards appropriate collecting points. Never throw batteries into fire.

1 STANDBY:
Use this key to switch the unit on and off in stand-by mode, provided the POWER switch on the subwoofer’s rear panel is in ON position (I).
2 SUB +/— :
Push the + or — button, to adjust the subwoofer’s loudness.
3 CEN +/— :
Push the + or — button, to adjust the centre speaker’s loudness.
4 VOLUME 56 :
Use these buttons to set the overall volume of your home cinema.
5 INPUT 5.1 CH / AUX :
Press this button to toggle the active input channel.
6 OUTPUT 5.1 CH / 2.1 :
Us this button to select the operating mode
2.1 (stereo with subwoofer) or 5.1 (all
speakers).
7 SUR +/— :
Push the + or — button, to adjust the rear speaker’s loudness.

Operating the Home Cinema Set
1. Set the mains switch (POWER) on the backside of the subwoofer to the ON position (I).
The system is now in standby mode and the red pilot lamp (STANDBY) on the front side lights up.
2. Push the STANDBY button on the remote control in order to switch on the system. The
green pilot lamp (OPERATION) will light up.
3. Push the INPUT button in order to activate the desired input, AUX or 5.1 channel.
4. You can choose between the operation mode 2.1 (stereo with subwoofer) or 5.1 (all
speakers) using the button OUTPUT.
5. You can set the overall volume with the help of the VOLUME 56 buttons on the remote
control. Push the 5 button to increase the volume and the 6 button to reduce the volume. While you are changing the volume, the green pilot lamp is quickly blinking.
6. For adjusting the volume of the individual speakers to each other during operation, carry
out the following steps:
Set the overall volume to an appropriate level.
Push the CEN + or – button in order to change the volume of the centre speaker. Push the SUR + or – button in order to change the volume of the surround speakers. Push the SUB + or – button in order to change the volume of the subwoofer.
7. Push the STANDBY button on the remote control in order to switch the system into
standby mode. The red pilot lamp will light up. To save some energy we recommend to switch off the POWER switch on the rear panel as well when the unit is not in use.
Disposal advice
When the operating life of this device has ended it must not be disposed as domestic waste, but in accordance with national environmental guidelines.
