Introduction
Before Installing
This guide covers the installation of the DiyTrack device to ensure a safe and functional install of the unit by either a Professional or novice installer Prior to the installation process, thoroughly review this guide and adhere to the following:
- Use only a Digital or Analog Volt Meter - DO NOT USE TEST LIGHT!
- Check for possible installation locations for the tracker unit prior to permanent installation.
- Make sure that the installation process does not cause damage to any motorcycle hose, electrical loom, or cause physical damage to the motorcycle
- Make note of the unit mobile and serial numbers prior to installation.
- Prior to installing this device, disconnect the motorcycle battery
- Make sure the device and all associated cables are securely mounted and do not impede any of the motorcycles’s controls.
- Ensure all connections are properly soldered and insulated, all un-used cables must be properly insulated.
- Use high quality electrical tape and shrink tubing were necessary

Thank you for purchasing our “DiyTracker”
Each unit has been manufactored to the highest quality to ensure reliability and ease of use.
GPS Fundamentals
All GPS Trackers require a SIM card
To get the location data from the GPS tracking unit to a users computer some transmission channel is required. Don’t panic it will not cost a “premium” The Tracker uses GPRS and only sends a very small amount of data.
Your Tracker is already tted with a Pre -Paid Simcard.

There is a minimum of 24 operational GPS satellites at all times. The satellites, operated by the U.S. Air Force, orbit the earth every 12 hours. Each GPS satellite transmits data that indicates its location and the current time. All GPS satellites synchronize operations so that these repeating signals are transmitted at the same instant. The signals, moving at the speed of light, arrive at a GPS receiver
determined by determining the amount of time it takes for their signals to reach the receiver. When the receiver determines the distance to at least four GPS satellites, it can by triangulation, calculate its position in three dimensions.
To ensure the GPS unit receives enough satellite signals at an acceptable signal strength, it must be mounted so that it has a
clear view of the sky. In hidden locations, such as under the fairing or seat, it is important to keep any metal interference as far as
While GPS data collection has improved in ease and speed, some obstacles remain. Solid or dense objects can block GPS signals.
Wet trees with heavy branches and leaves can mask or attenuate GPS signals. Mountains and buildings can block satellite transmission.

the satellites will degrade the signal and reduce the overall performance.
The TellMe unit can be installed in any type of motorcycle. The unit should be mounted
so it will not be exposed to or get damaged from people or objects.
To ensure the GPS unit receives enough satellite signals at an acceptable signal strength, it must be
mounted so that it has a clear view of the sky. In hidden locations, such as under the fairing or seat,
it is important to keep any metal interference as far as possible from the top portion of the GPS unit
so that the most accurate position can be calculated. Ensure the “gps Antenna area” is “face up” towards the sky

Installation Process
12/24v Power/Positive Connection (Red Wire)
Securely attach the wiring harness to the Tracking unit
Disconnect the negative terminal from the motorcycle battery to prevent a possible transient voltage surge
that will damage your traking unit. Please note warranty does not cover damage from transient voltage surge.
Switched Ignition 12/24v Connection (Yellow Wire )
The Yellow must be connected to a switched 12/24v source from the motorcycle.
Locate the Yellow wire found on the wire harness supplied with your Tracking unit.
Optional Connection
How to Find (+) 12/24v Ignition with a Multi Meter
1. Set your meter to DCV or DC voltage
2. Attach the (-) negative probe of the meter to the chassis ground
Your meter should read (+) 0v
4. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position. If your meter reads (+)12/24VDC go to the next step, if not probe another wire.
5. Now turn the key to the start position. The meter display should stay steady (+) 12/24v, not dropping by more than a few tenths of a volt. If it drops close to or all the way to (0) zero, go back to step 3, If it stays steady at (+) 12/24v you have the ignition wire.
Ground Connection (Black Wire)
Re-connect the negative terminal to the vehicle battery and proceed to the next step
Solder and insulate all connections (Crimping should be avoided wherever possible)
WARNING

12-24V DC Power Connection (Red Wire)
Locate the Red wire found on the wiring harness. The red wire must be connected to a constant 12 volt source from the motorcycle to power the tracker unit.
It’s important that the12 volt power source maintains 12 volts at all times.
Locate the Black wire found on the wiring harness The black wire must be connected to the negative terminal of the motor cycle battery.

Testing & Troubleshooting

After the TellMe tracking unit has been powered on for atleast 5 minutes, dial the tracker simcard mobile number that is inserted in your tracking unit. Let it “ring” 3 times then hang up. Now send the following SMS to the simcard mobile number that is inserted in your tracking unit:
*1234*P#
Please note the above SMS must be sent exactly like the example and all letters must be UPPER CASE
If the ITellMe tracking unit has been correctly installed and the GPS antenna has successfully fixed onto the satellites, then you will receice a SMS text message back from the TellMe tracking unit containing a “clickable” google map link showing you the current location of your motorcycle.
SYMPTOM CAUSES
Unit Does Not Power-up Power is not connected to the unit. With a Digital Volt
Meter, measure the voltage at the input to the unit. A positive voltage should be measured on the + terminal of the unit when measuring between the + terminal and the - terminal or chassis ground. This voltage should also measure 12/24v. Correct the wiring to assure the correct polarity and the correct voltage level.
Unit Does Not Find Cellular Service
The main cause of this is poor signal strength due to shielding. Move the motorcycle outside the building ,
after 5min re-apply power to the unit.
Unit Does Not Receive a GPS Signal The cause is that the GPS receiver is not locking into
the satellites. The main cause is due to the unit not receiving the signal from the satellites. Make sure that the unit “face up”is facing towards the sky. If it is, then move the motorcycle outside of any building/garage to allow the GPS unit to have a clear view of the sky.
If no GPS fix has been acquired by the time the tests are complete, then verify that the TellMe tracking unit has been installed correctly and that there is NO metal blocking the signal between the GPS antenna and the sky and that motorcycle is outside.
