User Installation and Instruction Manual for
EZ Series Fixed Access Ladder
I. Application:
A. Purpose:
The purpose of the EZ Series Fixed Access Ladder is to
provide an OSHA Compliant access to roofs, platforms and
walkways.
B. Limitations:
Rated Number of simultaneous users- (1)
Load Rated: 800 lbs.
C. Standards:
Please refer to all families of standards regarding occupational safety for more
information on work positioning systems and fall protection. These include
ANSI, OSHA, and any applicable local or state requirements. Compatibility shall
follow all requirements of OSHA 1910.23(d).
II. Installation:
A. Installation Tools and Materials:
*Plan your system prior to installation. Consider any factors
that may affect a user’s safety. Key points to consider are:
anchorage, sharp edges, obstructions and rescue.
Measure and layout stand-off locations- 1’-9¾”
between each Ladder Standoff
Mount stand-offs to structure. Secure with bolts.
Standoffs should be installed to ensure the ladder
has a minimum of 7” clearance between the rungs
and the structure. This 7” clearance applies to
obstructions on the structure being affixed to.
Mount Ladder Rung adapters to Stand-offs. Secure
with bolts.
Place ladder on Ladder Rung Adapter.
Install clamp plate over the ladders rungs and
secure with bolts.

B. Important measurements
When Installing:
Climbing width: must be a minimum of 16 inches- OSHA 1910.23(b)(4)
Stand-off distance of 7 inches. 7 inches minimum must be measured from the mid-
point of the ladder rung to the nearest permanent object in back of the ladder.
OSHA 1910.23(d)(2). **See Diagram on Last Page.
Any Fixed Access Ladder is required to have a fall protection system in place if it
exceeds 24 feet according to OSHA 1910.28(b)(9)
The last rung of the ladder must be either in line of below the roof and no more than
12” below.

General Notes:
Ladder system has been designed by Diversified Fall Protection per specifications on referenced
drawings. Consult with a qualified engineer before installation system to confirm structure supporting
ladder is capable of supporting ALL intended loads applied to ladder when in use. Diversified Fall
Protection shall not be held liable or responsible for ladders installed by others, other than Diversified
Fall Protection.

Standoff connection scenarios vary and different part numbers may be used. Actual standoff connection
types and bolt patterns may differ from what is depicted in this document. Suggested torque values
(ft/lbs) for ½” ASTM Gr. 5 bolts are as follows: Galvanized/waxed: 61 ft/lbs
