1. General:
The primary intent of this document is providing all required information for installation of a
Dittel Avionik KRT2 VHF Communication Transceiver on the airplanes listed on the EASA
Minor Change Approval.
The installation must be carried out by a qualified person in compliance to the instructions of
this document and the User & Installation manual VHF- Communication Transceiver KTR 2,
Doc.No. DE-3000-800100e, latest effective issue.
All installation work must be performed in accordance with acceptable methods, techniques
and practices for aircraft alterations, inspections and repair as shown in FAA documents AC
43.13-1B and FAA AC 43.13-2B
2. Configuration:
The KRT2 shall be securely attached to the airplanes instrument panel on a location easily
accessible for the crew but not adversely affecting visibility of the required minimum
equipment as defined in the Section 2, Operating Limitations of the Aircraft Flight Manual.
Ideally the distance to the aircraft magnetic compass exceeds 30cm. The supporting
structure must be capable that the unit represents no physical hazard to any occupant in the
event of hard landing or crash.
The KRT2 shall be connected to the aircraft electric system via a 3A circuit protective device
of similar type as already used on the airplane.
3. Approval:
Installation of the KRT2 in accordance with EASA Minor Change Approval Project no.
0060030050-001 requires a written permission and shall be in compliance to the instructions
given in this document.
It’s the responsibility of the aircraft operator to ensure compliance to this installation
instructions and the User & Installation manual VHF- Communication Transceiver KTR 2,
Doc.No. DE-3000-800100e, latest effective issue.
The written permission can be obtained from Trieb GmbH using the form in appendix
EOMD009-Permission Letter.
4. Detailed Installation Instructions:
4.1 Mounting:
Installation of the KRT2 shall be performed iaw Section 2. Configuration and
the applicable information of the User & Installation manual VHF- Communication
Transceiver KTR 2, Doc.No. DE-3000-800100e, latest effective issue. Applicable sections of
FAA AC 43.13-2B must be considered.
4.2 Electrical System:
Install the required connection iaw Section 2. Configuration and the
applicable information of the User & Installation manual VHF- Communication Transceiver
