This product utilizes a Class 1 laser to read Compact Discs. This
laser Compact Disc player is equipped with safety switches to avoid
exposure when the CD door is open and the safety interlocks are
defeated. Invisible and hazardous laser radiation when open and interlock failed
or defeated. Avoid direct exposure to beam. Please do not attempt to defeat or
bypass the safety switches.

• Do not open the CD compartment while the CD is rotating.
• Always keep the CD compartment closed when not in use.
• Keep all foreign objects out of the CD compartment.
• Place the unit on a stable surface.
• Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:

such as electric heaters.
• On top of other stereo equipment that radiates too much heat.
• Places lacking ventilation or dusty places.

POWER SOURCES OPERATION (CONTINUED)
This unit is designed to operate on AC household current or DC (batteries).
BATTERY INSTALLATION
To use this unit with battery power, remove the Battery Compartment door
on the rear of the unit by pressing in on the tabs and lifting the Battery
Compartment door off.
Insert eight (8) ‘AA’ size
batteries following the diagram in the compartment.
NOTE: The AC power
cord must be disconnected from the DC 9V
jack on the side of the unit
in order for the unit to
operate on battery power.

Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.

2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated next
to the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.
. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline, Rechargeable and

Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to
revent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.

5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat
nd rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)

AC
To operate the unit using AC power, connect the AC adapter (included) to
an AC outlet having 120V, 60Hz AC only. Plug the small end into the DC 9V
jack on the side of the unit and connect the other end into an AC outlet. The
batteries are automatically disconnected when the AC adapter is used.
CAUTION: When not using AC power, disconnect the AC adapter from the
wall outlet by pulling the plug (not the cord). Do not touch the AC adapter
with wet hands. Fully insert the plug without exposing any part of the blade.
OPERATION
HEADPHONES JACK(S)
For private listening, connect 3.5mm (32 ohm) stereo headphones (not
included) to the Headphones jack(s). The speakers are automatically
disconnected when the headphone plug(s) is inserted in the the
Headphones jack(s).
TO PLAY A CD (Standard, CD-R and CD-RW)
1. Press the Power button to turn the unit on.
Open the CD compartment by rotating each of the three Open/Close

controls, located on the rear of the unit, clockwise. Then, lift up the
compartment by using the Open/Close Handle and Open Tab.
Gently press a disc, label side up, onto the spindle until it locks in place.

Close the CD compartment and rotate each of the three Open/Close
controls counter-clockwise so it locks the CD compartment in place
4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (
®p) button to start playback on track 1; the
Play indicator and current track will appear in the display.
5. Adjust the Volume as desired by pressing the VOL Up button to increase
or Down button to decrease.
6. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (
indicator will blink. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (
®p) button to pause playback; the PLAY
®p) button once again to
continue playback; the PLAY indicator will stop blinking.

skip forward or backward through the tracks on the disc, press the
Skip/Search
o or n button. To search forward or backward through the

music on a disc, press and hold the Skip/Search o or n button, a
chattering noise will be heard.
8. When the disc is through playing, it will stop rotating. Press the STOP (
■)
button to stop the disc before it is finished.
9. To turn the unit off, press the Power button.
NOTES:
• When using batteries, it is very important that the power be turned off
after each use to save the batteries.
Make sure there is no external auxiliary unit connected to the AUX IN
•
jack when using the CD player.
• If a disc is inserted incorrectly, dirty or damaged, it will not play, "--" will
appear in the display. Also, if there is no disc or the CD door is opened,
"--" will appear in the display.
• As each track is played, the track number is shown in the display.
• To prevent damage to the disc, never open the CD compartment while the
disc is rotating. Wait for the disc to stop before opening the CD
compartment. Never touch the lens when the CD compartment is open.
• If desired, fully extend the Stand on the rear of the unit. The CD should
only be used on a steady surface.
TO PLAY BACK THE TRACKS RANDOMLY
1. To play the tracks on the CD in a random order, simply press the
RANDOM button; the RANDOM indicator will appear in the display.
NOTE: If you are in the Stop mode, you will also need to press the
PLAY/PAUSE (
®p) button to start playback.
2. To cancel Random play, press the RANDOM button again; the RANDOM
indicator will disappear in the display.
TO REPEATEDLY PLAY BACK ONE TRACK/ALL TRACKS
1. To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT ( ) button once; " " will
appear in the display. Press the Skip/Search
specific track that you wish to repeat. Press the Play/Pause (
o or n button to select the
®p) button
and the specific track you selected will be repeated continuously.
2. To repeat all of the tracks on the disc continuously, press the REPEAT
( ) button twice, " ALL" will light solid in the display. Press the
Play/Pause (
®p) button and the unit will play all the tracks on the CD
over and over until the Stop (■) button is pressed.
To stop Repeat playback, press the STOP (■) button.
To cancel Repeat playback, press the REPEAT ( ) button repeatedly
until " " disappears from the display.
USING AN EXTERNAL UNIT
You can connect an external unit to this unit, such as a cassette player, MP3
player, etc. Simply connect an audio cable (included) from the AUX IN jack
on this unit to the external unit's AUX OUT jack. This will allow you to
broadcast the external unit's sound through this unit’s speakers.

2. Press the Power button to turn the unit on, and also make the external
unit is on.
3. Operate the external unit. The external unit’s sound will be heard through
this unit’s speakers.
4. Adjust the Volume as desired by pressing the VOL Up button to increase
or Down button to decrease.
5. To turn the unit off, press the Power button.
NOTES:
Connecting the unit to an external audio source will allow you to

broadcast the external unit’s sound through this unit’s speakers.
When connecting the external unit, refer to the owner’s manual of the
•
external unit, as well as this manual.
• When connecting the external unit, make sure the power is off and both
units are unplugged before making any connections.
