Warranty
We, Direct Supply Manufacturing, Inc., offer to you, as the original purchaser, a warranty for the Panacea® Hot and Cold Packs. Our warranty applies for the limited warranty period stated below. If any product or product part listed below is defective in material or workmanship during the applicable limited warranty period, we will repair or replace it at our cost. Please note that the decision to repair or replace a product or product part will be at our discretion.
Our warranty applies only if the product is properly maintained by the original purchaser for normal, indoor use and does not cover normal wear and tear, modification of the product, or damage caused by abuse, improper use, failure to maintain, use which exceeds the published product limitations, or the combination of any product with another product. In addition, our warranty does not cover fading, colorfastness, stains, spills, or exposure to chemicals, odors, heat or light. In certain cases, we may provide you repair or adjustment instructions and/or replacement parts, and ask you to perform a repair or adjustment or replace a defective part.
Our warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary, from state to state. Please note that our limited warranty period begins when we ship the product to you. The limited warranty period and our obligations under the warranty end once you transfer the product to someone else, or at the end of the applicable limited warranty period identified below, whichever is earlier.

Anticipated Usable Product Life is based on normal use with proper maintenance, cleaning and storage. You should still inspect, monitor and care for the product as described in this guide, as the product may need to be replaced sooner than anticipated in particular situations.
DIRECT SUPPLY MANUFACTURING, INC. MAKES NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; THESE AND ALL OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, DIRECT SUPPLY MANUFACTURING, INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS THAT MAY RESULT FROM THE PRODUCT OR YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU, IF ANY, IS LIMITED TO THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO YOUR CLAIM. Some states do not allow an exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. If implied warranties are not excluded, and to the extent allowed by law, we limit any and all implied warranties to the applicable warranty period identified above. Except for rights under any applicable state law, the remedies provided under this warranty are your sole and exclusive remedy for any breach of our warranty and state the entire limit of our responsibilities.

staff to help ensure the packs are cared for properly.

Cold Pack - Instructions for UseHot Pack - Instructions for Use
To Prepare New Hot Pack for First Use:
- Cover Hot Pack completely with tap water and soak for two hours.
To Heat Hot Pack for Clinical Use:
- Place Hot Pack in clinical heating unit (cover completely with water).
- The recommended water temperature for heating the hot pack is 160° F.
Application:
- Carefully remove Hot Pack from water using tabs.
- Ensure product is intact with no rips or punctures. If damaged, discard product immediately and do not use.
- Place Hot Pack in Terry Cover (purchased separately), with several layers of dry terry toweling between Hot Pack and skin.
- The steam from the Hot Pack will penetrate the layers of toweling.
- To vary the heat intensity, increase or decrease the number of toweling layers.
WARNING:
- Do not apply Hot Pack directly to skin.
- Always consult with a physician before using any hot therapy product. Individuals with sensitivity to temperature extremes, such as those with circulatory problems, diabetes, nerve damage, paralysis, or sensitive skin should use this product only under the direct supervision of a physician.
- Do not sit or lie on the Hot Pack.
- Do not use with pain rubs, medicated lotions, creams or ointments.
- Immediately discontinue use if user experiences any discomfort, burning, swelling, rash or other changes in the skin when using this product.
- Do not add chlorine to water in heating unit. This will affect the life of Hot Pack.
- Any water temperature less than 160°F can reduce the life of the Hot Pack.
- If contents come into contact with eyes, flush with water until irritation ceases.
CAUTION:
- Treatment time should not exceed 30 minutes.
- Constantly monitor Hot Pack treatment to ensure that the skin is not becoming too hot.
- Do not apply over insensitive skin or in the presence of poor circulation.
- Do not use Hot Pack directly over cuts, abrasions or wounds.
To Cool Cold Pack for Clinical Use
- Freeze Cold Pack for a period of one to two hours.
- Do not chill Cold Pack below 0° F.
- Simple refrigeration of Cold Pack will not yield optimal results.
Application:
- Ensure product is intact with no rips or punctures. If damaged, discard product immediately and do not use.
- To guard against the possibility of frostbite, a paper or hand towel should be placed on the area to be treated before applying the cold pack.
- The intensity of the cold pack can be controlled by varying the number or size of toweling layers.
WARNINGS:
- Always consult with a physician before using any cold therapy product. Individuals with sensitivity to temperature extremes, such as those with circulatory problems, diabetes, nerve damage, paralysis, or sensitive skin should use this product only under the direct supervision of a physician. Tolerance to cold will vary from resident to resident and is dependent upon current conditions.
- Do not apply over areas with reduced sensation or poor circulation.
- Do not use with pain rubs, medicated lotions, creams or ointments.
- Immediately discontinue use if user experiences any discomfort, burning, swelling, rash or other changes in the skin when using this product.
- Treatment time should not exceed 30 minutes.
- Residents should not lie, sit or sleep on the Cold Pack.
- During treatment, monitor the skin under the Cold Pack frequently to guard against tissue damage.
Maintenance:
- If contents come into contact with eyes, flush with water until irritation ceases.
- Moisture should be wiped from the Cold Pack after use.
- When not in use, store the pack flat (not folded) in the freezer.
- The Cold Pack may be stored outside of the freezer, as long as the ambient temperature is no higher than 90° F and the Cold Pack is stored in the included plastic storage bag.
- The Cold Pack cannot be used as a Heat Pack. Heating or microwaving the Cold Pack will destroy it.
