WARNING
It is the responsibility of the vehicle operator to ensure their vehicle is parked in a safe and responsible manner.
1. a) Manual transmission: When leaving the vehicle, it is the user’s
responsibility to ensure that the gearshift lever is in the NEUTRAL position and the parking brake is engaged in order to avoid accidents upon remote starting.
b) Automatic transmission
: When leaving the vehicle, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the gearshift lever is in “Park” in order to avoid accidents upon remote starting. (Note: Make sure that the automatic vehicle ca nnot start in "Drive".)
2. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the remote starter is
disabled or put into valet mode before servicing.

UsingtheRemoteControl
Your remote starter is equipped with a 5-button mu lti-channel remote control. It can operate two independent vehicles equipped with a remote starter (see Multi-car operation section on page-
15). The functions of the transmitter are as follows: 2-way LED remote
LOCK: Locks the doors and arms
the STARTER KILL (if installed).

UNLOCK: Unlocks the doors and disarms the STARTER KILL (if installed). Activates the AUX 1 output if Priority Door Access is configured.
TRUNK: Opens the TRUNK or activates the AUX 3 output.
Note: Trunk option must be installed.

START/STOP: Remote starts or stops the engine. Gets the system into Cold Weather mode by pressing the SHIFT button and then pressing and holding the START/STOP button for 3 seconds. Note: Icon may vary.

different functions to any of the other four buttons.

Heater
When leaving the vehicle it is recommended t o preset the acc essory controls in pre paration for the next remote start. Settings for the bl ower motor (fan), front and r ear, should not be l eft on HIGH. It is recommended to leave the settings on LOW or MEDIUM instead.
WindshieldWipers&Radio&Headlights
Certain vehicles require the ra dio and / or windshield wiper and / or h eadlight circuits to become energized while running un der remote start. When leaving the vehicle you must ens ure that the windshield wiper and headlight switches are OFF. Leaving the headlight switch ON on certain types of vehicles could cause the m to remain ON even after remote starter shut down, res ulting in a dead battery.

Arminganddisarmingthestarterkill(ifinstalled)
This added security feature will prevent the vehicle from starting with the Ignition key when the starter kill is armed. If the system was installed with the starter kill option, the vehicle will not be able to start with the key unless the system has been unlocked first or put into Valet Mode
(page 9).
Note: If the Starter Kill is inst alle d, t he vehic le will benefit from a prot ecti on agains t start er motor
damage that could occur after remote-startin g the engine s hould the user , by force of habit, turn the ignition key to the CRANK position.
The Starter Kill (if installed) can be configure d by the ins taller either to Pa ssive Mode (s o as to arm automatically) or Active Mode (so as to require t he user’s intervention for arming). By default , the Remote Car Starter is configured to Passive Mode.
Passive mode: To arm the Starter Kill:
Press the button on the transmitter.
OR
Let the Starter Kill arm automatically 1 minute (by default) or 3 minutes (if configured this way) after the ignition is turned OFF or once the last door is closed (if th e doors are monitored). The parking lights will flash once.
The LED on the antenna will flash quickly during the c ount down preceding the activation of the Starter Kill.
Once the activation countdown expires, the LED will send a series of quick double flashes to indicate that the Starter Kill is now armed.
To disarm the Starter Kill:
Press the
button on the transmitter.
The Starter Kill will automatically rea rm itself after 1 minute (by default) or 3 minutes (if configured this way) if no door is left opened (if the d oo r s are monit ored) and the ignition is not turned ON.
Active Mode:
To arm the Starter Kill:
Press the button on the transmitter.
The parking lights will flash once.
The LED on the antenna will flash slowly.
If remote door locks are install ed, this will also lock the doors and ar m the OEM-style
alarm (if configured).
To disarm the Starter Kill:
Press the
button on the transmitter.
The parking lights will flash twice.
The LED on the antenna will remain OFF.
If remote door locks are installed, this will als o unlock the doors and disarm the OEM-
style alarm (if configured).
