make sure that everything listed below is present:

2. Mounting plates with hardware
3. Power cabling kit
4. High Level Input harness
Safety Precautions
Warning
Observe the following precautions:
❍ Installation must be performed according to this user’s
guide. Directed Electronics and Sirius Satellite Radio
are not responsible for issues arising from installations
not performed according to the procedures in this
manual.
❍ Do not install the unit where it may obstruct your view.
❍ The installation and use suggestions contained in this
manual are subject to any restrictions or limitations that
may be imposed by applicable law—the purchaser
should check applicable law for any restrictions or limitations before installing and/or operating this unit.
❍ Failure to mount the unit securely following the instruc-
tions in the manual could allow the unit to move, causing personal injury or property damage.
❍ Failure to follow these safety instructions and warnings
may result in a serious accident.
Warning
Take the following precautions to prevent fire and avoid personal injury:
❍ To avoid short circuits, never put or leave any metallic
objects (coins, tools, etc.) on the unit.
❍ If the unit emits smoke or unusual odors, disconnect the
power immediately and consult your authorized retailer.
❍ Do not drop the unit or subject it to strong shocks.
Warning
During installation and making electrical connections,
observe the following safety instructions:
❍ Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle’s bat-
tery. When doing so observe the vehicle manufacturer’s safety instructions.
❍ Check before drilling any holes to avoid damaging

vehicle wiring or components.
❍ The minimum power wiring size is 12 gauge.
❍ Incorrect installation may cause interference with elec-
tronic vehicle systems or your car radio.
Caution
Take the following precautions to keep the unit in proper
working order:
❍ Be sure the unit is connected to a 12V DC power
source with a negative ground connection.
❍ Do not open the unit.
❍ Do not install the unit where it will be exposed to high
levels of humidity, moisture, or dust. When replacing
the fuse, use only a new one with the proper rating.
Using a fuse with the wrong rating may cause the unit
to malfunction.
❍ To prevent a short circuit when replacing a fuse, first
disconnect the power wiring harness.
Note
If the unit doesn’t seem to be working properly:
❍ Turn the unit’s power off, wait 5–10 seconds, then turn
the power back on again.
❍ If the problem persists, consult your local Sirius retailer.
Cleaning the Unit
If the unit becomes dirty, remove power from the unit and
wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Do not use hard cloths or any
solvents to clean the unit as these may damage the finish of
the unit.
Installation Preparation
It is recommended that you have a professional installation
accomplished by an authorized dealer.
Ensure that the selected mounting surface for the subwoofer will provide a firm support to facilitate quality sonic
reproduction.
Install a fuse in the power harness no more than a foot from
the vehicle’s battery, in order to protect the battery and the
power cable in the event of a short-circuit between it and the
power amplifier of the subwoofer . The fuse on the subwoofer
is only intended to protect the amplifier.
Note: Before disconnecting the vehicle’s negative battery lead, ensure that any required security code for the
head unit is available. This code may be required to
restore the head unit to normal operation.
