WARNING
It is the responsibility of the vehicle operator to ensure their
vehicle is parked in a safe and responsible manner.
1. a) Manual transmission: When leaving the vehicle , it is the user’s
responsibility to ensure that the gearshift lever is in the NEUTRAL
position and the parking brake is engaged in order to avoid ac cidents
upon remote starting.
b) Automatic transmission
: When leaving the vehicle, it is the
user’s responsibility to ensure t hat the gearshift lever is in “Park” in
order to avoid accidents upon remote starting.
(Note: Make sure that the automatic vehicle ca nnot start in "Drive".)
2. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the remote starter is
disabled or put into valet mode before servicing.

What is EncryptR™ Technology?
EncryptR™ employs proprietary encryption software that sends unique codes from the
remote starter to the ADS-TB or ADS-AL-CA bypass module that cannot be replicated or
reversed with hi-tech equipment.
The EncryptR™ communication exchan ged between the remote s tarter and the ADS byp ass
module is best described as a “sec ret handshake” tha t is never the same and c hanges every
time it is used.
Since the command / communication is never exchanged in the same way twice, it is
impossible to duplicate even for expe rt thieves and this ens ures the best security possible for
the remote starter system.
Added Security
Every Polarstart remote starter installation used in conjunction wit h an ADS-TB or an ADSAL-CA with EncryptR™ Technology comes with a Limited Anti-Theft Warranty covering up to
$ 2,000 in the event of theft. In order to qualify, upon completion of the installation, your
installer should go on-line to www.encryptr.com
and fill out the Limited anti-theft warranty
form. A copy should be printed a nd given to you for your records. Within ten (10) working
days, a pair of holographic stickers will be mailed to you. Upon receiving them, you must
ensure to affix them on both front side windows of your vehicle.

such as priority access to the driver’s door (commodity features), the Safe Start children safety
feature and SmartStart™.
SmartStart™ is a groundbreaking technology that enables your remote starter features to be
accessed by your smartphone. Features include keyless entry, trunk release, panic, remote
start/stop toggle and alarm notifications

UsingtheRemoteControl
Your remote starter is equipped with a 5-button mu lti-channel remote control. It can operate two
independent vehicles equipped with a remote starter (see Multi-car operation section on
page 16). The functions of the transm itter are as follows:
2-way LED remote
LOCK: Locks the doors and arms
the STARTER KILL (if installed).

UNLOCK: Unlocks the doors and
disarms the STARTER KILL (if
installed). Activates the AUX 1
output if Priority Door Access is
configured.
TRUNK: Opens the TRUNK or
activates the AUX 3 output.
Note: Trunk option must be
installed.

START/STOP: Remote starts or
stops the engine. Gets the system
into Cold Weather mode by
pressing the SHIFT button and
then pressing and holding the
START/STOP button for
3 seconds. Note: Icon may vary.

different functions to any of the
other four buttons.

VehiclePresets
Heater
When leaving the vehicle it is recommended t o preset the acc essory controls in pre paration for the
next remote start. Settings for the bl ower motor (fan), front and r ear, should not be l eft on HIGH. It
is recommended to leave the settings on LOW or MEDIUM instead.
WindshieldWipers&Radio&Headlights
Certain vehicles require the ra dio and / or windshield wiper and / or h eadlight circuits to become
energized while running un der remote start. When leaving the vehicle you must ens ure that the
windshield wiper and headlight switches are OFF. Leaving the headlight switch ON on certain
types of vehicles could cause the m to remain ON even after remote starter shut down, res ulting in
a dead battery.
