General Information
Local and National electrical codes must be followed and 1.
take precidence over theses instructions.
This heater is for mounting only on a metallic outlet box 2.
that is designed for use with rigid metal conduit.
All right hand support ttings must be tight to ensure con-3.
tinuity of electrical ground throughout the chassis.
The heating element and extruded enclosure may at-4.
tain operating temperatures on 815° C (1500° F). This
should be taken into consideration when choosing a
mounting location for these heaters.
Best results are obtained if people are irradiated at an 5.
angle rather than directly from above.
Heaters may be wired together to form an electrical net-6.

Installation Instructions
Congratulations on purchasing a small wall heater from
Dimplex North America. Your heater is manufactured using
the highest quality materials and workmanship and will
provide many years of trouble free service.
This heater is designed for permanent installation only,
care should be taken to install according to the following
instructions. All required clearances should be maintained, in
addition all electrical wiring and connections should comply
with local electrical codes.
!
NOTE: It is extremely important to read all information
labels. Care must be taken to ensure that the heater is
rated the same voltage as the electrical supply wires.
Failure to do so could result in unsafe heater operation as
well as damage to the unit. If replacing an existing heater,
check the labels of the old heater to ensure the voltage of
the new heater is compatible.
Install a suitable electrical outlet box for mounting the 1.
heater.
Using two 3/4” conduit bushings, secure the right hand 2.
support of the heater to the outlet box. (Figure 1)
Bring in electrical supply and connect to heater supply 3.
leads inside outlet box. Use at least 75 degrees C wire
for electrical connections.
Fasten cover to outlet box.4.
Adjust heater for the desired angle of radiation using the 5.
following methods: (Figure 1)
a) To rotate heater chassis in the A-A direction; loosen
the locking collar of the EMT tting shown, rotate the
heater chassis to the desired angle, then retighten
the tting.
b) Rotation of the heater chassis in the B-B direction
is achieved through a similar process, using the set
screw located in the type “T” condulet.

Operation
KRR radiant heaters are built to operate at 40 watts per sq.
inch on the element sheath. If full radiation intensity is not
required continually when operating, an EIC input controller
may be used to regulate heater output. Magnetic contactors
must be used with all input contorller when radiant heater
loads exceed the capacity of the controller, or load is three
phase.
Maintenance
CAUTION: Disconnect all power coming to heater at
main service panel before wiring or servicing.
Reectors should be cleaned periodically. A mild soap and
water solution or ne cleaning powder is best although more
drastic means may be required if reectors are badly soiled
by chemical or other deposits. The reector is aluminum.
DO NOT use alkali cleaners. Mild non-alkaline cleaners,
such as used for scouring kitchen sinks, may be used. Reectors are replaceable and may be purchased from Dim-
plex.
