USER INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT
PLEASE READ THIS LEAFLET CAREFULLY AND
RETAIN FOR FURTHER USE. NOTE ALSO THE
ELECTRICAIRE
WARNING - THE SURFACES ON THIS HEATER CAN BE HOT.
This heater meets BS 3456 safety requirements. However, any heater type becomes hot in normal operation. Care
must be taken to ensure that prolonged skin contact with the heater does not occur.
WHERE YOUNG CHILDREN, INFIRM PERSONS, OR THE AGED ARE LIKELY TO BE LEFT UNSUPERVISED
IN THE VICINITY OF THE HEATER WE RECOMMEND THAT A GUARD IS FITTED. Contact your installer or the manufacturer for further advice.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

THIS APPLIANCE IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. THE FLOOR MUST BE CHECKED TO ENSURE THAT IT IS CAPABLE
OF BEARING THE WEIGHT OF THE UNIT, UP TO 750KG (¾ TON). DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO MOVE OR REPOSITION THIS HEATER WITHOUT SEEKING EXPERT ADVICE.
To maintain stability, it is essential that the heater is placed on a level surface.
The heater must be installed where it is impossible for switches and other controls to be touched by a person using
a bath or shower.
IMPORTANT - Due to the newness of materials the heater will produce a slight smell for the fi rst few days of
operation. ROOMS MUST BE WELL VENTILATED AND YOUNG CHILDREN, CAGED BIRDS, OR PERSONS WITH RESPIRATORY COMPLAINTS MUST NOT REMAIN IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE HEATER DURING THE FIRST 48 HOURS OF THE COMMISSIONING PERIOD.
IF, DURING ANY REASSEMBLY OF THE HEATER, A PART OF THE THERMAL INSULATION SHOWS DAMAGE
OR DETERIORATION WHICH MAY IMPAIR SAFETY, IT SHOULD BE REPLACED BY AN IDENTICAL PART.
The heater must stand at least 50mm clear of any walls and 150mm below ceilings.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
The warm air system is designed to operate on cheap rate electricity.
The heater takes in energy when electricity tariffs are low, and
retains it in the insulated core. Warm air is provided directly from
the unit mounted on a plenum or through duct work, by the operation
of a fan. The fan may be controlled by a central thermostat and/
or a time clock.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. VENTILATE ROOM WELL DURING COMMISSIONING.
2. DO NOT MOVE THE HEATER IN ANY WAY ONCE
INSTALLED, WITHOUT THE SERVICES OF A COMPETENT
ELECTRICIAN.
3. DO NOT COVER THE HEATER WITH CLOTHING ETC. AT
ANY TIME, OR POSITION FURNITURE, OR ANY OBJECT,
CLOSE TO OR AGAINST THE HEATER.
ALSO REFER TO COVER PAGE
COMMISSIONING
The heater should be commissioned in accordance with the
installation instructions - by the installing engineer.
CONTROL FUNCTIONS - see Fig. A
1. INPUT CONTROL
The input controller is a thermostat which regulates the amount
of energy taken by the heater during the hours when cheap rate
electricity is available. Turning the knob clockwise increases the
amount of heat stored. The setting should be adjusted from MIN
to MAX to suit seasonal requirements.
2. NEON INDICATOR & 3. FAN SWITCH
To obtain heat from the Electricaire Unit press the fan switch
to the ON position. The fan indicator light will now glow red.
If the fan is controlled by a room thermostat it will switch off
automatically when the room temperature reaches the required
level. The fan should be switched off before retiring at night.
This function may be performed by installing a time clock.
4. BOOST SWITCH
The boost switch increases the airflow delivered by the
Electricaire Unit. This facility is designed to produce a rapid rise
in room temperature, e.g. fi rst thing in the morning or when you
return home in cold weather.
5. DAY ENERGY SWITCH
If your Electricaire Unit is connected to the “White Meter” tariff
the day energy switch operates direct acting elements. This
facility extends the heat output obtainable from the Electricaire
Unit by using day energy after the core has been fully discharged.
To avoid unnecessary use of day rate energy the following
safeguards have been built into the appliance.
Day energy can only be used if:
The Day Energy switch is in the ON position.
The fan switch is in the ON position.
The outlet air temperature has fallen below a pre-determined
level.
In addition ensure the input is set at MAX.

ROOM ENVIRONMENTAL
CONTROLS
The installation may be fi tted with several additional environmental
controls.
A room thermostat may be fi tted in the room. This thermostat
controls the operation of the heater fan. Adjust the setting until a
comfortable environment is achieved.
Note however the higher the thermostat setting the higher the
running costs.
Where duct work is installed individual rooms will be fi tted with
supply air registers. If a room is not in use the supply registers
can be closed.
MAINTENANCE
A washable fi lter is fi tted to ensure the warm air distributed is clean
and free from dust. The fi lter is located in the detachable lower panel
and should be washed in warm soapy water at least twice a year
(see Fig. B). The fi lter panel can be removed by pulling the top end
away from the heater and lifting out the location hooks.
To maintain the appearance of the heater, wipe occasionally with
a dry cloth when the heater is cool. Do not use abrasive powders
or furniture polish.
IMPORTANT - Do not remove any panel before isolating the heating
unit from all electrical supplies. Additional maintenance should
only be carried out by a trained engineer or electrician. When
required contact your local electricity board or the installer. Regular
inspection should take place, at least every two years.
