BODY SENSOR FUNCTION
OPERATING THE BODY SENSOR
The body sensor function will be the default setting when turning on the Intellifan
if there is no pre-saved function from last use (see “Extra Features / Saved
Functions” section for more information about “SAVED FUNCTIONS”).
To manually activate the body sensor function, press and hold (for approx.
3 seconds) the HORIZONTAL OSCILLATION button until it BEEPs twice. All four
horizontal oscillation LED indicators will light up in turn.
The Intellifan will now rotate 360° to detect people within 2 meters of the Intellifan
and determine the suitable rotational arc. The Intellifan will BEEP when it detects
people. It may also perform an additional 360° degree turn to verify the location
of the people in the room. The Intellifan will then adjust its rotation to only the
area where people are located.
If no one is detected, the Intellifan will oscillate through 360° again searching
for people.
The Intellifan will recalibrate its rotation if people move from their original
locations.
Note that the Intellifan will not track people as they move around the room.
If people move frequently around the room, consider using one of the
pre-programmed angles of rotation.
To turn off the body sensor, press the HORIZONTAL OSCILLATION button.
13
Page 14
BODY SENSOR TROUBLEShOOTING:
Why does the Intellifan BEEP multiple times at a person?
This is normal. The Intellifan may BEEP as it detects where a person’s body
starts and/or ends.
After the Intellifan has locked in its rotational arc, why does it rotate
past a person that it detected?
The Intellifan is designed to rotate up to 30° past a person to ensure the whole
person is cooled.
Why does the Intellifan sometimes BEEP and detect people who
aren’t there?
The body sensor’s accuracy is affected by multiple factors. One of the main
factors is the distance of people from the Intellifan. The further away people are
from the Intellifan, the less accurate the sensor will be. This can make the sensor
other objects and incorrectly classify them as people.
How does the Intellifan work?
The infrared body detector classies objects that are 37°C as being human.
There are many features I don’t use. How can I simplify its operation?
The easiest solution is to restrict the Intellifan’s cooling to a single wind speed
and oscillation angle. Whenever you press the Intellifan POWER button, it will
enter standby mode and save this setting until you press the POWER button
again to turn it back on (assuming the Intellifan remains plugged in and turned
on at the wall).
