Introduction

Overview

The Video (+Audio) Splitters series broadcast the same video (+Audio)
signals from one video (+Audio) signal source to 2 / 4 / 8 DVI or HDMI
compatible outputs or monitors respectively, and the broadcast can be
expanded significantly when several splitters are cascaded together.
Depending on the length and cable quality, this fully HDCP compliant
splitter supports DVI / HDMI display resolutions of up to Full HD (1920 x

1080) / WUXGA (1920 x 1200) / UXGA (1600 x 1200), and is also Blu-ray
ready. There is no need for software or interface card installation. Just
connect the cables, power up the system and you are ready to have
duplicated video images for multiple monitors with excellent clarity.
Moreover, 4 / 8-ports monitors series come with mountable size and can be
easily mounted on the rack for space saving and working efficiently.

Installation

WARNING

● Prior to the installation, ensure to power off all devices that will be connected
to this system.

● Ensure that all devices you will connect are properly grounded.

● Place cables away from fluorescent lights, air conditioners, and machines

that are likely to generate electrical noise.

One piece of DVI male-to-male cable is required to connect from a video
source to the Video Splitter Input (SOURCE). Multiple monitors or TVs
should be connected to the Video Splitter's output ports as the following
figures shown.

For the model with built-in audio port, plug a set of audio jack from the
speaker to the Splitter’s audio port.

For DS-4x211 series with audio over DVI combination support, both audio
and video signals can be outputted by using a DVI-to-HDMI adapter that
combines digital video (DVI) and digital audio into HDMI to seamlessly
integrate into your modern home theater or computer systems. The
connection is as simple as connecting the optional DVI-to-HDMI
adapter(s) to the output side of the splitter, and then connect the HDMI
display or projector to the HDMI output of the DVI-to-HDMI adapter. The
adapter will convert the digital audio onto the digital video signal to
generate the HDMI signal. But please note: Not all hardware and not all
cables are supporting the audio over DVI feature!

NOTE: At least one monitor connection to the splitter unit is required when

powering on the source device.

NOTE: The splitter unit is required to connect to the computer before the

computer powered on.

NOTE: The splitter unit is HDCP compliant and requires using a HDCP-

compliant display when it is connecting to the HDCP video source.

NOTE: Each output port on the Unit is required to apply the same connection

pattern whenever a DVI-to-HDMI (or HDMI-to-DVI) adapter is used for
HDMI (or DVI) signal conversion between the Unit and the HDMI (or
DVI) display. The mixed (HDMI and DVI) output connections (possible
examples as the following figures shown) may cause signal
degradation. For instance, a 4-Port Unit with one output connection to
a DVI monitor and another output connection to a HDMI monitor via a
HDMI-to-DVI adapter or cable, the output signal could be distorted.
Signal degradation, harmful interference, or equipment malfunction
are less likely to occur if absolute connection consistency is used.

The example of mixed connection pattern should not be used, because of
possible disturbances.

Blu-ray Ready

The Splitter Unit is able to support high definition video such as DVD or Blu­ray and multi-channel audio, and carry the best signal from source to displays;
the high bandwidth allows for the transmission of large amounts of information
at a very high rate of speed.

Blu-ray uses a blue-violet laser to read and write data, while current
optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD­RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data. Despite the different type
of lasers used, Blu-ray uses a blue-violet laser (405nm) that it has a
shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to
focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be
packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more
data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD.

Operation

The quality of the output signal will depend largely upon the quality of video
source, cable and display device used. Low quality cables degrade output
signal causing elevated noise levels. Please use the proper cable and make
sure the display device is capable of handling the resolution and refresh
rate selected. Interference from nearby electrical devices can have an
adverse effect on signal quality as well.

Übersicht

Die Videosplitterserie (+ Audio) überträgt die gleichen Video (+ Audio)­Signale von einer Video (+ Audio)-Signalquelle auf 2/4/8 DVI-oder HDMI­Ausgänge bzw. kompatible Anzeigegeräte und die Übertragungslänge kann
deutlich erweitert werden, wenn mehrere Splitter kaskadiert werden. Je
nach Länge und Qualität des Kabels, unterstützt dieser vollständig HDCP­kompatible Splitter DVI- / HDMI-Anzeigeauflösungen bis zu Full HD (1920 x

1080) / WUXGA (1920 x 1200) / UXGA (1600 x 1200) und ist auch Blu-ray
Ready. Es muss keine Software oder Schnittstellenkarte installiert werden.
Schließen Sie einfach die Kabel an, schalten das System ein und Sie
können Videobilder auf mehrere Anzeigegeräte mit ausgezeichneter

Installation

WARNUNG

● Schalten Sie vor der Installation alle Geräte aus, die an dieses System
angeschlossen werden.

● Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle angeschlossenen Geräte ordnungsgemäß

geerdet sind.

● Verlegen Sie Kabel nicht in der Nähe von Leuchtstofflampen, Klimaanlagen
und Maschinen, die möglicherweise elektrisches Rauschen erzeugen.

Um eine Videoquelle mit dem Videosplittereingang (QUELLE) zu verbinden,
ist ein DVI Stecker-Stecker-Kabel erforderlich. Mehrere Anzeigegeräte oder
Fernseher müssen wie den folgenden Abbildungen dargestellt, an die
Ausgangs-Ports des Videosplitters angeschlossen werden.

Bei dem Modell mit integriertem Audioanschluss schließen Sie einen
Kabelsatz an den Audiobuchsen der Lautsprecher und dem Audioanschluss
des Splitters an.

Bei der DS-4x211-Serie mit Audiounterstützung über DVI können sowohl
Audio- als auch Videosignale mittels einem DVI-zu-HDMI-Adapter
ausgegeben werden, der digitales Video (DVI) und digitales Audio in
HDMI zusammenführt, um sich nahtlos in Ihre modernen Heimtheater­oder Computer-Systeme zu integrieren. Die Verbindung ist so einfach wie
der Anschluss des optionalen DVI-zu-HDMI-Adapters an den Ausgang
des Splitters. Verbinden Sie anschließend das HDMI-Anzeigegerät oder
Projektor mit dem HDMI-Ausgang des DVI-zu-HDMI-Adapters. Der
Adapter konvertiert das digitale Audio- zum digitalen Videosignal, um das
HDMI-Signal zu erzeugen. Aber beachten Sie bitte: Nicht jede Hardware

und nicht alle Kabel unterstützen die Audio-über-DVI-Funktion!
Schalten Sie Ihre Videoquelle nur ein, nachdem Sie alle Verbindungen

HINWEIS: Mindestens ein Anzeigegerät muss beim Einschalten des

Quellgeräts an den Splitter angeschlossen sein.

HINWEIS: Der Splitter muss vor dem Einschalten des Computers an diesen

angeschlossen sein.

HINWEIS: Der Splitter ist mit HDCP kompatibel und benötigt ein HDCP-

kompatibles Anzeigegerät, wenn er an eine HDCP-Videoquelle
angeschlossen wurde.

HINWEIS: An jedem Ausgang am Gerät muss das gleiche Anschlussschema

angewendet werden, wenn ein DVI-zu-HDMI- (oder HDMI-zu-DVI­Adapter) für eine HDMI- (oder DVI-) Signal-Konvertierung zwischen
Gerät und HDMI- (oder DVI-) Anzeigegerät durchgeführt wird. Die
gemischten (HDMI- und DVI-) Ausgangsanschlüsse (mögliche
Beispiele werden in den folgenden Abbildungen dargestellt) können
zu einer Verschlechterung des Signals führen. Zum Beispiel, bei
einem 4-Port-Splitter mit einem Ausgangsanschluss zu einem DVI­Anzeigegerät und einem weiteren Ausgangsanschluss zu einem
HDMI-Anzeigegerät über einen HDMI-zu-DVI-Adapter oder Kabel,
kann das Ausgangssignal verzerrt sein. Signalverschlechterung,
ernsthafte Störungen oder Geräte-Fehlfunktionen treten weniger
wahrscheinlich auf, wenn eine absolute Konsistenz der Anschlüsse
angewandt wird.

Dieses Beispiel eines gemischten Anschlussschemas sollte wegen der
möglichen Störungen nicht angewendet werden.

Blu-ray Ready:

Der Splitter unterstützt High-Definition Video wie DVD oder Blu-ray und
Mehrkanal-Audio und überträgt ein unverfälschtes Signal von der Quelle bis
zu den Anzeigegeräten. Die hohe Bandbreite ermöglicht die Übertragung
großer Datenmengen mit einer sehr hohen Geschwindigkeit.

Blu-ray verwendet zum Lesen und Schreiben von Daten einen blau­violetten Laser, während die aktuellen optischen CD-Technologien, wie
DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW und DVD-RAM, zum Lesen und Schreiben der
Daten einen roten Laser verwenden. Trotz der unterschiedlichen
verwendeten Lasertypen, nutzt Blu-ray einen blau-violetten Laser
(405nm), der eine kürzere Wellenlänge als ein roter Laser (650nm) hat,
mit dem der Laserspot mit noch größerer Präzision fokussiert werden
kann. Dadurch können Daten dichter gepackt und auf weniger Platz
gespeichert werden, so dass mehr Daten auf die Disk passen, obwohl sie
die gleiche Größe wie eine CD/DVD hat.

Betrieb

Die Qualität des Ausgangssignals hängt weitgehend von der Qualität der
Video-Quelle, dem verwendeten Kabel und dem Anzeigegerät ab. Kabel mit
geringer Qualität verschlechtern das Ausgangssignal und sorgen für
erhöhte Rauschpegel. Bitte benutzen Sie ein gutes Kabel und achten Sie
darauf, dass das Anzeigegerät die gewählte Auflösung und
Bildwiederholfrequenz verarbeiten kann. Störungen durch elektrische
Geräte in der Nähe können die Signalqualität beeinträchtigen.

Introduction

Vue d'ensemble

La série de séparateurs vidéo (+ audio) diffuse les mêmes signaux vidéo (+
audio) d'une source de signal vidéo (+ audio) vers 2/4/8 sorties DVI ou HDMI
ou moniteurs compatibles, respectivement, et la diffusion peut être étendue
de façon significative lorsque plusieurs répartiteurs sont mis en cascade. En
fonction de la longueur et de la qualité du câble, ce séparateur totalement
compatible HDCP supporte des résolutions d'affichage DVI/HDMI allant
jusqu'à Full HD (1920 x 1080)/WUXGA (1920 x 1200)/UXGA (1600 x 1200),
et est aussi Blu-ray ready. Aucun logiciel ni carte d'interface ne sont requis. Il
suffit de connecter les câbles, de mettre sous tension le système et vous êtes
prêt à dupliquer des images vidéo vers plusieurs moniteurs avec une
excellente clarté. En plus, la série de moniteurs 4/8 ports est livrée avec des
dimensions lui permettant d'être facilement montée sur un rack en vue d'un
gain d'espace et d'efficacité de fonctionnement. Cette solution souple qui
s'adapte à plusieurs écrans vidéo numérique est particulièrement adaptée
pour des applications de radiodiffusion publics telles que :

Matériel requis

Installation

AVERTISSEMENT

● Avant l'installation, assurez-vous d'éteindre tous les appareils qui seront
connectés à ce système.

● Veillez à ce que tous les appareils que vous allez connecter sont
correctement mis à la terre.

● Placez les câbles loin des lampes fluorescentes, climatiseurs et machines
qui sont susceptibles de produire un bruit électrique.

Un câble DVI mâle-mâle est nécessaire pour connecter l'entrée d'une source
vidéo et l'entrée du séparateur vidéo (SOURCE). Plusieurs moniteurs ou
téléviseurs devraient être connectés aux ports de sortie du séparateur vidéo
comme illustré dans les figures suivantes.

Pour le modèle doté de port audio intégré, branchez une prise d'entrée audio
du haut-parleur au port audio du séparateur.

Pour la série DS-4x211 avec audio en combinaison avec DVI, les deux
signaux audio et vidéo peuvent être reproduits à l'aide d'un adaptateur DVI­HDMI qui combine la vidéo numérique (DVI) et l'audio numérique en HDMI à
intégrer de façon transparente dans votre cinéma maison ou systèmes

informatiques modernes. La connexion est aussi simple que de connecter les
adaptateurs DVI-HDMI en option à la sortie du séparateur, puis de connecter
un écran HDMI ou un projecteur à la sortie HDMI de l'adaptateur DVI-HDMI.
L'adaptateur convertira le signal audio numérique en signal vidéo numérique
pour générer le signal HDMI. Mais notez que : pas tout le matériel et tous les
câbles ne supportent la fonction audio combinée au DVI !
Allumez votre source vidéo seulement après avoir effectué toutes les
connexions.
