STEP 1 – PREPARING TO MOUNT THE CAMERA

STEP 2 – CABLING THE CAMERA TO EXTERNAL DEVICES
1. The mounting sur face must bear ve times the wei ght of your camera.
2. Do not let the cables get caug ht in improper places or the ele ctric line cover to be damaged.
This may cause a brea kdown or re.
3. For the installation process, rem ove the dome cover and rubber gaske t from the camera
module by looseni ng the screw on the side of the dome. Use the w rench provided with the camera.
4. Using the mounting template shee t or the camera itself, mark and dr ill the necessary hole s in
the wall or ceiling.
6. Once all cables are connecte d, secure the camera to the mounting su rface using the included s crews.
7. Re-at tach the camera’s gasket ring and dome to the c amera module by aligning the s crew holes.
8. The camera includes a sensor a t the camera’s module. For the sensor to funct ion properly, the
camera’s dome includes a special hole for the sensor.
9. When assembling the came ra together, please make sure the sensor ho le in the camera’s dome is
positioned right on top of the sensor on the camera’s module.

5. Pa ss the wires through the mount brac ket and make all necessary c onnections.
a. NE TWORK CONNECTIONS – If you are us ing a PoE Switch, connect the camer a using an Ethernet
cable for both data an d power.
b. NE TWORK CONNECTIONS – If you are us ing a non-PoE switch, connect the ca mera to the switch
using an Ethernet c able for data transmission an d use a power adapter to power the camera.

Soft Surface Installation
For soft install ation surfaces, use the inclu ded metal mount plate. Fix th e mount plate on the mounting surfa ce using the included screws. Then, press the bot tom case onto the mount plate. The three bezels o n the case will align and snap lock onto the p late.

Resetting the camera: To reset the camera, use the tip of a p aper clip or a pencil and pres s the reset button. Press ing the button for ve (5) seconds wil l initiate a camera-wide reset of all t he settings, including network settings.
7. To view the camera’s web viewer, click on ‘View C amera Website’.
STEP 5 – DW IP FINDER
Use the DW IP Finder™ software to scan th e network and detect all MEGAp ix® cameras, set the ca mera’s network settin gs or access the camera’s web client.
Select DHCP if t he Internet service i s dynamic IP. This will allow the camera to r eceive its IP address f rom the DHCP server.
Select STATIC to manually e nter the camera’s IP address , subnet mask, G ateway and DNS informatio n.
Contact your network administrator for more information.

• IP: DHCP
‘Port Forwar ding’ has to be set in your netwo rk’s router for external ac cess to the camera.
Network Setup
1. Go to: http://www.digital-watchdog.com
2. Search for ‘IP F inder’ on the quick search bar at th e top of the page.
3. The latest IP F inder software will appe ar in the search results. Click o n the link to download the le to
your computer.
4. Launc h the DW IP Finder software by doub le-clicking on the downloa ded le.
5. The sof tware will scan your network f or all supported cameras a nd display the results in the tabl e.
Allow up to 5 seconds for t he IP Finder to nd the camera on the ne twork.
6. Select a c amera from the list by double- clicking on the camera’s image or clic king on the ‘Click’ button
under the IP Conf. colu mn. The camera’s network information w ill appear. If necessary, you can adju st the camera’s network ty pe.

8. To save the changes mad e to the camera’s settings, input the ID and PW of th e camera for
authentication a nd click ‘Save’.
9. If the ca mera needs to be rebooted after the s ettings were changed, press t he ‘Reboot’ button.
The camera will c ycle power and will appear back i n the search results once the rebo ot is complete.

STEP 6 – WEB VIEWER
NOTE: Some Men u options may not be available ba sed on the camera model. Se e the full manual for
more information.

Once the camera’s networ k settings have been setup prope rly, you can access the camera’s web viewer using the DW IP Finder™ (see step 7 under STEP 5 IP Fin der™), or directly via a suppo rted web browser.
To open the camera’s web viewer:
1. Open a supported web browser (Internet Explorer® 8.0 or above).
2. Enter the came ra’s IP address and port in the address b ar. Example: http://ipaddress/port.
Please note that por t forwarding may be necess ary in order to access the cam era from a different
network. Please contact your network administrator for additional information.
3. Enter the cam era’s username and password (default are a dmin / admin).
4. If you are acc essing the camera for the rs t time, install the ActiveX for web les in o rder to view video
from the camera.
The GUI displa y may differ by came ra models.

STEP 4 – MANAGING THE SD CARD
Installation using Mount Bolt and Screws:
1. Using the template sheet, make and drill the cabling
holes on the wall/ceiling.
2. Sec ure the two long mounting screws to the c amera’s
base.
3. Pas s the wires through the mount bracket a nd make all
necessary connections.
4. M ount the camera to the mounting sur face by using
the 2 mounting nuts. Rota te the locking discs over the screws until the came ra is held tightly from the mountin g surface.
5. S ecure the camera’s cover dome onto the camer a base
to complete the installation.
To install the memory ca rd:
1. The SD Card s lot is located next to the rest button.
2. Deta ch the camera’s cover dome from the camer a’s
module by unscrewi ng the cover dome screws.
3. Ins ert a Micro SD/SDHC Class 10 card accor ding to
the diagram.
4. To remove the SD c ard, press the card gently into
the card slot to releas e it. The card will pop out automatically.
