Introduction
The MIL-02F is an Ethernet, multi-mode fiber transceiver that comes equipped with diagnostic LEDs, an AUI male connector, and either an SC- or ST-type fiber connector.
Installation
1. Connect the fiber cables: Attach the fiber cables from the fiber network cabling to the fiber connectors on the MIL-02F.
2. Attach the 15-pin AUI connector from the MIL-02F to the DB-15 connector on the device you wish to connect to.
3. Tighten the latch screws to secure the unit.
4. Restart the computer. The

Configuration
The MIL-02F comes with configurable options, which include a 2-position DIP switch and a 3-pin jumper. The DIP switch is located on left-side of MIL-02F (while facing the device), and the jumper is located inside the device. To open the MIL-02F to access the 3-pin jumper:
1. For device's with ST-type connectors,u nscr ew the two hex nuts that secur e the ST-type connectors.
2. Slide the top-half of the enclosure off, over the fiber connectors.
The jumper is located on right-hand side of the device (Figure 1).
DIP Switch
The Link Sentry feature on the MIL-02F is configured through the 2-position DIP switch located on the side of the transceiver . Use a mechanical pencil to adjust the DIP switches.
LinkSentry transmits link pulses only if the receive side of the link is seen. This allows fault-tolerant transceivers and hubs to detect faulty cables or bad equipment. Settings for the DIP switch includes:
Switch 1 LinkSentry disabled (Default) LinkSentry enabled Switch 2 SQE disabled (Default) SQE enabled

Jumper Settings
The 3-pin jumper forces the device into half- or full-duplex operation.
When pins 1 and 2 are covered, full-duplex is selected
When pins 2 and 3 are covered, half-duplex is selected (default)
