The newly designed Excalibur Sport ergometer meets the latest requirements of modern sports medicine and research.

Since athletes are becoming more powerful and testing now more advanced than ever, this ergometer has been developed for extreme workloads up to 2500 watt.

Workload control

The peak load of 1500 - 2500 watt can be maintained for a maximum of 6 minutes.

The standard external control unit allows the workload to be controlled in various modes -

Hans Rudolph Research Pneumotach RSS100

The RSS100 and RSS100/HR research systems measure gas ﬂow using the differential pressure method. As gas ﬂows through the pneumotach, the microprocessor based system converts the measured differential pressure to volumetric ﬂow rate. Flow and pressure measurements are used to calculate several ventilatory parameters such as respiratory rate, lung compliance, tidal volume, minute volume, positive end expiratory pressure, etc.

Ambulatory Data Recorder

The CorTemp ambulatory data recorder wirelessly picks up the signal from the CorTemp core body temperature sensor, converts the sensor’s signal into digital format for display and storage. Data can be viewed in real-time or downloaded later for analysis in Excel spreadsheet format or through CorTrack data-graphing software. The unit can be worn by the person for continuous monitoring or can be used to take random, manual readings.

Core Body Temperature Sensors

Monitors core body temperature continuously as it travels through the digestive system. While inside the gastrointestinal tract, the internal crystal sensor vibrates at a frequency relative to the temperature of the substance (body) surrounding it, producing a magnetic ﬂux. The sensor wirelessly transmits the core body temperature signal harmlessly through the body to the CorTemp Ambulatory Data Recorder worn on the outside of the body.

Equipment Calibration

We understand that a lot of research work is done using cycle ergometers, treadmills and metabolic systems.

Although these products are manufactured to the highest standards they still require periodic checks and calibration.

The equipment required to carry out such tests is often expensive and in most situations not cost effective to purchase outright.

Cranlea’s Service department have all the necessary calibration equipment to take care of this for you, leaving you conﬁdent that all your research is being conducted with accurate technology.

Using the latest LODE portable calibrator we offer full calibrations on all models of ergometers, both mechanical and electronic. The calibration can be performed within a range of 30 – 1000 watt.

Treadmill Calibration

Using the latest equipment for the calibration of speed, inclination, distance and heart rate we offer a full calibration service on all treadmills.

There are many reasons why stress testing systems can give inaccurate measurements. Such as blocked sample lines, faulty gas analysers, faulty volume transducers etc.
