TDX AMPLIFIERS
CAUTION
Prolonged exposure to sound pressure levels in excess of 100 dB can cause permanent
hearing loss. Diamond Audio D9 amplifiers produce enough power to make most speaker
systems exceed that level. Please exercise restraint and protection during their operation
in order to preserve your ability to enjoy their fidelity for years to come.

TDX TECHNOLOGY
Thermal-Dyne eXtreme™, a fundamentally different solution. The design concept of
TDX Technology™ is to eliminate the most damaging factor to audio equipment and signal, Heat. Diamond Audio engineers decided to start with a fresh sheet of paper and build all new products that addressed all of the thermal problems and shortcomings of conventional designs while significantly raising the existing level of performance. The TDX™ amplifier technology starts with the massive extruded aluminum heat sink that is designed to draw heat away from the power supply and output devices and dissipate it quickly. This heat sink meets all the thermal requirements demanded in an elegant fashion, combining technology and good looks. Extruded into this heat sink are massive twin cooling fin banks with six cooing ducts that act as intake and exhaust for the fan driven Stealth Dynamic Cooling System. All six ducts are located on the end panels of the amplifier. Air is drawn into the system through the center intake ducts, through the fan, across the heat sink fin banks, and out through the exhaust vents. The fan is stealth mounted internally to eliminate any fan related noise or disruption. At the center of this thermal protection system is the patent pending TDX™ circuitry that controls all aspects of operation. This circuitry completely eliminates amplifier overheating and shut down problems. This is achieved through a secondary, optically isolated power supply controller. Under demanding conditions (i.e. high ambient temperatures, high power, and low load impedance), the TDX™ circuitry: Senses the rising temperature. Enables the cooling fan. Adjusts the power supply current to a sustainable level. And adjusts the cooling fan speed. Once the temperature has been reduced, the power supply current is increased and the fan is shut down. This operation is completely transparent to the user and the amplifier output is not wavered while TDX™ is engaged. This circuitry also incorporates redundant thermal sensing for fail-safe operation at all times. The D9 amplifier with TDX Technology™ truly sets a new benchmark in mobile audio performance. With its extremely low distortion and noise performance, complete protection circuitry, and high power, this amplifier truly has no equal.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION
To achieve maximum performance and life time warranty coverage (see warranty statement), Diamond Audio strongly recommends that a factory authorized Diamond retailer professionally installs your new amplifier. The D9 amplifier is an awesome component with category leading technology, proper attention must be taken during installation to ensure optimum performance. The authorized Diamond retailer you purchased your amplifier from has the training, expertise, and tools for proper installation. If you decide to install your amplifier yourself, please read this manual through to become familiar with the amplifiers install and set up procedures.
MOUNTING
D9 Amplifiers can be mounted in any position, even upside down, just as long as airflow is maintained. Do not install any amplifier under carpet or behind airtight panels. Maintain 2" of space around the amplifier so that it can breath. If mounting location has a lack of airflow, ventilations fans must be used to circulate fresh air.
Never mount an amplifier where it can get wet, water damage is not covered by warranty.
D9 Amplifiers utilize their own stealth fan driven cooling system. A sufficient flow of air around the amplifier will allow the TDX™ thermal management system to operate at peak efficiency. Air is drawn into the system through center intake ducts in the heat sink, through the fan, across the circuit board, and out through the exhaust vents on the end panels. The TDX™ circuitry regulates when the fan is on and how fast it turns depending on the temperature of the amplifier.
STEALTH DYNAMIC COOLING SYSTEM
DC CONNECTIONS
D9 amplifiers need proper power and ground connections to deliver maximum performance and efficiency. This is typically the least understood part of the installation process. The D9 power supply is completely defendant on current, not voltage, so it is truly regulated by nature. Voltage drops due to poor connections or grounding practices will only cause the amp to pull more and more current to sustain output. This increased current draw causes unwanted noise, thermal issues, and will eventually make the amp shut down or cause the vehicles electrical system to fail.
The gauge of the power and ground cables must be capable of handling the current needed by the entire system. Power and ground cables must be of the same gauge. If the alternator is not capable of supplying enough power for both the vehicle AND the audio system, a high output alternator should be installed for best performance.
