Embedded Controller (EC) & BIOS Updates

☆ Before you update EC & BIOS programs, backup your important data. If

your update fails, contact the service center for help.

☆ It is necessary to run your FlyBook on an external power. Connect your

FlyBook with the DC-in adapter first, so that the EC & BIOS updates
won’t fail due to FlyBook’s power outage.

Check EC & BIOS Versions

Please check if your EC & BIOS are the latest versions, if not, take the steps
below to update them:

1. Double-click the [FlyBook Center] icon in the system tray. Then the FlyBook
Control Center window will display.

2. Press “F1” key to show the version data window.

☆ Note: The [FlyBook Control Center] window must be the highest window.

Update EC/BIOS

1. Unzip the file like “FlyBook_Vx_EC_BIOS_version number.zip” to receive a
“.iso” file.

☆ ( the x means the FlyBook model which you want to update – V2V3, VM or V5;

the version number is the versions of the EC & BIOS in this zipfile )

2. Insert a blank CD into the CD/DVD ROM device of your FlyBook VM.

3. Invoke a CD burning application such as “Nero”. Use its "Burn Image to Disc"
function. Select the ".iso" file that you just unzipped.

4. Burn a VM EC/BIOS update CD.

5. Reboot your FlyBook VM with the support of the “VM EC/BIOS update CD”
that you just burned. Then the system will automatically update the BIOS first.

6. When BIOS update finishes, reboot your FlyBook with the “VM EC/BIOS
update CD” again. Then the system will automatically update the EC.

7. When EC update finishes, reboot your FlyBook with the “VM EC/BIOS update
CD” again. System will show the version information if EC and BIOS are both
updated.

8. Reboot your FlyBook with HDD support to use it.
