Connections
Relay contacts are volt free. Relay response time is suitable for being driven from a Cat.2 switched power supply. C915 runs from 12V or 24V. Insert the jumper for 12V operation. When running from a dc supply the photobeam is polarity sensitive.
Functional description
C915 is an infrared photobeam for mounting on the bottom edge of a roller shutter. The sprung loaded housing legs begin to roll along the floor when the beam is within 60mm of ground level. working from 12V or 24V ac/dc.
A LED on the Tx is lit all the time. The Rx LED is on when the beam is uninterrupted. Neither are visible through the case, but a sight hole can be made to allow the LED to be seen.
Installation
The housing legs are fixed to the back of the door hanging downwards. Run a low voltage cable between the legs. Wire a 4 core flexible or spiral cable from one leg to a terminal box on the door guide. Be sure the cable does not snag over the full travel of the door.
The PCBs can be withdrawn to make wiring easy. Terminals take 22 awg wire or less (0.2mm²). It is a good precaution to spray a conformal coating on the PCB before closing. WD40 also is a good insert repellent. Clip the covers on and secure with the two screws provided.
