The PPC/MPC Vacuum Kit should be installed as illustrated above. Fill the vacuum pump with oil before using.

A three-way solenoid valve has been installed to protect the vacuum pump when turned off. When decreasing
pressure in a PPC the test gas is exhausted through the reference port. This ensures that the gas will not
exhaust into the pump and possibly cause damage. The valve is electrically connected to the vacuum pump
power switch and will be actuated when the pump is turned on.

When the vacuum pump is turned off, the reference or vacuum port of the PPC (or MPC) will be connected to
atmosphere bypassing the vacuum pump.

When the vacuum pump is turned on, the reference port of the PPC (or the vacuum port of the MPC) will be
connected to the vacuum pump enabling pressure below atmosphere to be generated.
