Electronic animal warning system
Model # 20500
Congratulations on the purchase of the DesignTech’s Deer Alert. This product is an electronic device engineered to produce both a sonic frequency (heard by humans and larger animals like deer and elk) and ultrasonic frequency (beyond the range of human hearing but heard by smaller animals) to alert animals of your vehicle’s presence.
The unit has an effective range of up to 1,500 feet and works at any speed.
The Deer Alert has a special “active mode” feature which allows the driver to turn on the sonic frequencies (heard by humans and larger animals) while the Deer Alert still produces the ultrasonic frequencies (beyond the range of human hearing) to warn smaller animals.
This quality product is designed, engineered and built in the USA to provide years of service.
Operation:
When the vehicle is started or stopped, Deer Alert senses the change in the vehicles electrical charging system and a single chirp is emitted a few seconds after starting and a few seconds after stopping. This tells the driver that the unit is alive and well.
The Deer Alert always produces the ultrasonic frequencies to warn smaller animals (like cats and dogs) anytime the vehicle is running. These ultrasonic frequencies cannot be heard by humans. When you are in the area where larger animals such as deer and elk are present you will want to activate the audible sonic whisltes.
To set the “active mode” -- which turns on the sonic tones:
1) Starting the vehicle with the key.
2) 3-4 seconds later, the Deer Alert will sound a single upward sweeping sound.
3) Turn off the vehicle will the key.
4) Wait for a single downward sweeping sound (3-4 seconds later).
5) Restart the vehicle.
6) The Deer Alert will produce alternating sonic and ultrasonic tones for the entire driving session.
Contents:
1 Electronic Animal Alert Device
with built in 15 amp fuse
2 Cable Ties
Installation:
1. Locate the Deer Alert in a convenient location behind the front grill of your vehicle. The device should be aligned so that the speaker is facing forward. Use the two cable ties to attach the unit securely.
2. Run the wires from the Deer Alert to the terminals on the battery, always being careful to keep Deer Alert and its wires away from any moving or heat producing parts.
3. Attach the RED WIRE to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
4. Attach the BLACK WIRE to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
To turn off the “active mode” while underway - pull off to the side of the road and turn off the vehicle and wait for the last chirp -- about 4 seconds, and then restart the vehicle. The Deer Alert will only produce the ultrasonic tones for the remainder of the trip.
The next time the vehicle is started, the driver will again have the option to activate the “active mode”.
The revolutionary new design incorporated in DesignTech’s Deer Alert system provides a tremendously effective device, which works without any maintenance to keep the vehicle and its occupants safe from
many of today’s road hazards.
