Resistance R1 through R6, forms a series-connected
closed loop. If this series resistance is greater than 0.8
megohms and less than 10 megohms or 100
megohms, depending on range switch position, a
"safe" condition will be indicated.
It is recommended that the analyzer ground and the
operator wrist cord ground not be a common
connection. By utilizing separate grounding points, the
integrity of the ground connections is also being
checked during analyzer operation.

R2= Skin contact to wrist band may be high on
some operator's up to 1 Megohm
R3= Operator's body resistance usually low about 1K
R4= Contact resistance, analyzer ground cord to
ground should be almost 0 if good connection
R6= Contact resistance, operator's cord to
ground should be almost 0 if good connection

By pushing the button on the EN425, an operator can
check the wrist band, skin contact of wrist band, coil
cord, "CONDUCTIVE" table top, "CONDUCTIVE" floor
mat, heel straps, or any series combination of these
items to a maximum of 10 Meg. Ohms or 100 Meg.
Ohms. *
By definition, the term "CONDUCTIVE" used in the
following procedure, means equal to or less than 105
Ohms per square.
Refer to diagram above.
1. To check "CONDUCTIVE" Table Mat:
A. Place hand flat on mat while pressing Push-
To-Test button with other hand. (Operator NOT
wearing wrist cord) - safe should be indicated.
2. To check "CONDUCTIVE" Floor Mat:
A. Use procedure for testing table mat - OR
B. Have operator, wearing "CONDUCTIVE"
heel strap stand on floor mat and press Push-To-Test
button. (Operator NOT wearing, wrist cord) - safe
should be indicated.
