Maintenance instructions Denfit devices – January 2017
The Denfit fitness equipment is designed in such a way that user friendliness and vandal resistance are combined as
good as possible. The devices are also low-maintenance. This, however, does not mean that no maintenance is necessary. For good usage and to preserve the life-span periodic maintenance is necessary.
Conform EN16630 inspection and maintenance of fitness equipment is necessary to maintain the intended safety.
There are 3 levels of inspection/maintenance:
1 – Visual/routine inspection
2 – Operational inspection (moving parts)
3 – Annual (main) inspection (construction, cleaning, coating, etc.)
1- Visual /routine inspection
This inspection is intended to identify obvious hazards that are result from heavy use, vandalism or weather conditions. Aspects that are subject to this inspection are: cleanliness of the location, ground surface, sharp edges, missing
parts, etc.
Visual inspection needs to be carried out periodically. Depending on the usage this needs to be done once or twice
every month. For facilities that are subject to heavy use or vandalism daily or weekly inspection can be necessary.
2 – Operational inspection /maintenance of moving parts
See appendix A
3 months after installation, after that every 6 months:
Remove sand and dirt of rotating and sliding parts.
Check if all rotating and sliding parts are functioning correctly and lubricate if necessary.
Inspect if all attachment points are secure
Inspect coat and zinc work for damage and refresh where necessary.
For equipment that is heavily used a higher maintenance interval applies.
Devices that are installed in sand or near sand the operational inspection has to take place every 3 months.
3 – Annual inspection / maintenance of all other parts:
See appendix B
3 months after installation, after that once a year
Cleaning of the device.
All of the cleansers and disinfectants to be used cannot damage or erode the powder coat layer. Only the use of neutral cleaning agents, with a pH value between 6 and 8 are permitted. In addition, these cleaning agents must not be
abrasive. Cleaning with steel wool, sandpaper, solvents and other such items is also not permitted. Furthermore,
cleaning with high-pressure machinery can cause damage.
Inspect if rubbers and end stops functioning properly.
Inspect if all attachment points are secure.
Inspect if there are any damages like cracks in the welds, because of incorrect usage.
When in doubt please contact the manufacturer.
