1. PARTS:
A. Blend Center assembly.
B. 1 pc. 1/4"ID x 8 ft. long vinyl supply tubing, foot valve & ceramic weight.
C. 1 pc. 1/2"ID x 6 ft. long vinyl outlet tubing.
D. 2 pcs . #8 pan hea d 1-1/ 2" long mounting screws & a nchors.
E. 1 pc. label card.
2. INSTALLATION:
Note: All ins tallations must conform with loca l plumbing codes and use approved backflow preventers.
A) Mounting & Water Supply:
Remove the two cover retainer scr ews and the cover from the blend center assembly. Any number of blend
centers ca n b e coup led together by fir st removing the pip e plu gs in a ll but the la st u nit, then connect ing the one
unit to the other . Mount the unit (s) in position on the wall and locate the position for the mounting screws. Only
two screws a r e necess a r y t o mount u p to f ou r u nits cou p led t ogether . M ou nt t he unit s (s ) to t he wa ll a nd repl a ce
the covers and screws.
B) Chemical Supply:
Pla ce the chemica l cont ainer s in a convenient locat ion not mor e than 6 f eet below the blend center (gr ea ter lif ts
will r educe injection ca pa cities). Inser t the ends wit h the foot va lves of t he 8 foot 1/ 4"ID vinyl t ubing int o the
chemical containers. Cut the vinyl tubing to any convenient length that will allow them to extend from the
bott om of the chemica l cont ainer to t he prop ort ioner inlet ba rb s. (S ee Figur e 1). Gu mmed labels ar e pr ovided
for labeling chemicals.
C) Outlet:
Cut the 1/2"I D outlet tubing t o the desired length a nd att ach it t o the prop ortioner ou tlets. Model 633 with 4
GPM flow r ate - do not cu t tu bing to less than 18 " (to insu re pr iming). Longer lengths may be us ed up to 1 0
feet. Model 633 with 1 GPM flow rate may be cut to any length.
D) Chemical Injection Adjustment:
WARNING: USE CARE WHEN HANDLING HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS.
Chemical f eed rates are cont rolled by meter ing tips s crewed into t he propor tioner b arbs . Select a tip f or each
barb using Table 1 or 2 as a guide.
3. OPERATION:
The blend cent er is now r eady f or u se. Depr ess ing a pus h bu tt on opens the va lve, a llowing wa ter to flow thr ough the
chemical propor tioner that mixes chemical at the desir ed rate. the buttons are spring loaded to prevent accidental
overflow if unat tended, bu t may b e converted to loc king but tons by cu tting of f the ta b, at t he notch. (S ee Figur e 2).
Pushing the butt on and turning it a 1/4 tur n cl ockwise at the end of its t ravel a llows the valve t o loc k on. This makes it
unnecessary for the attendant to hold the button in while filling large containers. Turning the button in a counter
clockwise direction will releas e it , allowing the va lve to shut off.

4. SERVICING:
CAUTION: TURN OFF WATER SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING.
A. Proportioner fails to draw chemical:
1. Prop ortioner outlet tub ing cut too short for priming. Pinch outlet tub e to create back pressu re which will
cause unit to prime. The foot valve will keep the inlet tube primed thereafter.
2. Insufficient water supply pressure. 20 PSI is the minimum allowable.
B. Proportioner stops drawing chemical:
1. Ins pect foot valve for dr ied chemica l or dir t. Soa k in hot water to clean.
2. Pr oportioner metering tip clogged with dried chemical. Remove tip and tr y inject ing in hot water. If there
is no suction, remove proportioner and soa k in hot wat er to clea r inter ior pa ssages.
C. Proportioner continues to dr aw chemical after water valve closes:
Chemical su pply is higher tha n bott om of discha r ge tub e crea ting a nat ur al s iphon. Lower t he sup ply vess el or
hang up outlet tube after use.
D. Valve Malfunction:
Check t hat t he but ton moves fr eely up & down and tha t a "clic k" can be hear d when the butt on is pushed a nd
releas ed, indica ting t ha t the ma gnet is a ct iva ting t he p lunger p rop er ly. Remove cover. t o insp ect int er nal pa r t s,
unscr ew magnet housing a nd ca refu lly pu ll off the enclos ing tub e so as not to drop t he plunger , kick-of f spr ing
and s p acer. Check for dir t or damage impending plunger a nd kick-off sp ring movement. Inspect t he dia p hragm,
making su re the t wo small pin holes (bleed holes) in the dia phra gm convolution are clea r to allow the va lve to
clos e.
CAUTION: When servicing unit , be su re tha t replacement pa rts have been installed acc ording to drawing.
