B. 58.2 Vacuum Breaker
C. 58.6 Stainless Steel Supply Tube
D. 80.67 Compression Nut
E. 58.24 Straight Compression Fitting
F. 58.7 Vinyl Discharge Tube
G. 66.123 Screw & Anchor Kit
H. 58.78 Adapter
I. 58.61 Barrier Sheet
J. 58.58 LDPE Supply Tubing
K. 58.41.2 Timer Tray Assembly
L. 25.69 AC Adapter (581A-2W)
INSTALLATION:
Note: All installations must adhere to all applicable plumbing codes. This product is rated for 90 psi water line
pressure.
The bowl and the timer tray are loosely assembled when manufactured. Remove the adapter that is on the bowl outlet, in the
recess of the timer tray. This will allow the bowl, tray, and barrier sheet to be separated.
A. Eight 1.5 "C" size alkaline batteries supply power to the 581P-2W. These should be installed in the battery holders in the
positions shown. NOTE: The battery holders may be disconnected from the timer board if necessary. The 581A-2W is
powered by the AC adapter being plugged into the 58-100 control board.
B. A lockout feature is available for setting a five-minute lockout between the timer’s feed operations. See “Lockout Note” in
programming section.
C. With the batteries or AC adapter installed and the jumper set apply the barrier sheet. The barrier sheet is die cut to fit on
top of the timer tray and bowl to prevent any stray water from entering the tray. Remove the paper backing from the
barrier sheet and adhere it to the bottom of the bowl.
D. Place the timer tray on the bottom of the bowl. It should fit snugly over the bowl outlet and against the bottom of the bowl.
Secure it in place with the adapter on the outlet fitting of the bowl.
E. Using Teflon tape, install the 90º compression fitting in the outlet of the vacuum breaker. Repeat this procedure with the
straight compression fitting in the inlet.
F. Install the stainless steel supply tube in the compression fitting on the top of the bowl. Install the other end of the stainless
steel supply tube in the 90º compression fitting on the vacuum breaker. Tighten these fittings.
G. On the bottom of the timer tray is a solenoid valve. The outlet fitting is a straight plastic compression fitting. Connect the
LDPE supply tubing from this fitting to the inlet fitting of the vacuum breaker. Tighten these fittings.
H. Attach the vinyl discharge tube to the adapter at the bottom of the bowl. The tube slips over the barb end. It may be
necessary to run hot water through the vinyl tube to soften it and make installation easier.
I. Locate a clear position on the wall for mounting the bowl and timer combination. This should be as nearly directly above
the point of use for the dissolved chemical as possible. Drill holes approximately 1” deep in the wall to match the
mounting holes of the bowl. If the wall is tile or masonry, use a ¼” masonry bit.
J. Mount the bowl and timer to the wall using the mounting screws and anchors provided. The bowl should be mounted
below eye level if possible.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
K. Connect the water supply to the 90º compression fitting on the inlet of the solenoid valve on the bottom of the timer tray.
THE WATER PRESSURE SHOULD NOT EXCEED 90 PSI AND THE TEMPERATURE SHOULD NEVER
EXCEED 160º FAHRENHEIT.
L. When you have made sure all fittings are tight, turn on the water.
M. Place a chemical capsule in the bowl . PROPER SKIN AND EYE PROTECTION SHOULD BE WORN WHILE
HANDLING ANY CHEMICALS.
III. PROGRAMMING AND OPERATION
A. To set the dispensing time pass a magnet across the DEMA logo until the green light turns on. Press the START/STOP
button within five seconds to start dispensing product. Press and release the START/STOP button when the appropriate
amount of chemical has been dispensed. This amount of time will be remembered until the timer is reprogrammed. The
maximum time is five minutes. The minimum time is one second.
B. To dispense chemical, press and release the START/STOP button. The chemical will be dispensed for the programmed
time.
C. To stop the flow of chemical during a cycle, press the START/STOP button. This will shut off the valve but not affect the
program time. NOTE: The flow may only be stopped after five seconds of operation. If the timer is programmed
for less than five seconds this stop function does not apply.
Lockout Note: A 5-minute lockout can be set by use of a jumper on the board. When the jumper is installed in the
LOCKOUT (pins 2 & 3) position the delay is active. This means that 5 minutes must expire from last
operation before the board will allow operation again. Place the jumper in the NO LOCKOUT position (pins
1 & 2) to disable the 5-minute lockout.
