C. Metering orifices #3 and #7
2. INSTALLATION
A. Mountin g –
1) Direct mounting in rinse line: (See Fig. 1). Drill the rinse line with an R (.339 dia.) drill and tap 1/8 NPT. The
location must be downstream from the siphon breaker. Most plumbing codes require it to be 6" below the
breaker. If the piping is too thin for tapping, a 1/8 NPT saddle fitting may be used (Dema Part No. 25-37). The
excess white tubing shou ld b e cut to allow at least 1/8" extension beyond t he end of the fitting, including the
saddle fitting is used. Loosen the Locking Set Screw and pull the water inlet assembly from the pump along with
the white 1/8" OD tubing, retainer washer, spring and o-ring. Screw water inlet assembly into the rinse line and
push the pump body over the other end, making sure the spring and tubing are in p lace. The pump body may be
swiveled to any position before locking the set screw.
2) Remote Mounting: The pump may be mounted on any surface up to 4 feet away from the rinse line by means of
mounting bracket and coaxial impolene tubing with fittings. Ask for Dema Kit No. 26-1.

B. Rinse Supply Tubing Connection -- Drop the end of the vinyl tubing with the strainer into the rinse fluid container,
cut tubing to convenient length, and slip the open end onto the pump inlet fitting. (The end of the tubing may be
softened by imme rsi o n i n h ot water).
3. OPERATION:
The pump is operated by rinse line pressure. When the rinse valve is actuated, pumping action will commence and is
indicated by the movement of the indicator rod at the end of the pump. When the rod reaches the end of its str oke,
pumping stops. To rest the pump, the rinse valve must be turned off to allow rinse line pressure to drop to zero. To
prime the pump, turn the rinse valve on and off until rinse fluid reaches the pump.
4. ADJUSTMENT:
WARNING: Use care when handl ing hazardous chemicals.
The pump is adjustable up to 1/2 cc/ min feed rate based on a 12-second rinse cycle. The distance the indicator rod has
protruded at the end of the rinse cycle indicates the rate at which fluid has been injected. Each line indicates a rate of 2
cc/min. This rate is controlled by an orifice in the water inlet assembly. The inlet fitting is equipped with a #5 (.018 dia.)
metering orifice. The injection rate will depend on line pressure. If more or less fluid is needed, a larger or smaller
orifice should be used. See Table 1. Remove the knurled cap with filter screen from the water inlet assembly, and use a
screwdriver to replace the orifice. See Figure 1.
If the feed ra te required is unknown, then this must b e judged by obs erving the condition of the dishes as they leave the
machine.
