2. INSTALLATION:
Insert 1” OD rubber washer into faucet adapter, screw onto faucet. For cities with plumbing codes requiri ng ba ck
siphonage protection, install DEMA part #34-22 between faucet and adapter. Insert 15/16” OD rubber washer into
proportioner, screw onto faucet adapter. Cut inlet tubing to convenient length, slip ceramic weight over tubing and insert
end with foot valve into chemical container. Attach end of tubing to chemical inlet barb of proportioner. Screw outlet hose
(n ot pr ovided) ont o outlet of pr oport ioner.
3. CHEMICAL PROPORTIONING ADJUSTMENT:
WARNING: USE CARE WHEN HANDLING HAZARDO US CHEMICALS.
The proportion of detergent or disinfectant to water can be adjusted by turnin g the recessed screw in th e right side of the
pr oport ioner. Proportions for var ious setti ngs and for products of di fferent vis cosities are as follows:
1 cps (centipoise) is equal to the viscosity of water
75 cps is approximately equal to the viscosity of 10 weight motor oil
200 cps is approximately equal to the viscosity of most dishwashing detergents

NOTE: The maximum proportions of very viscous materials can be increased using
oversized tubing, DEMA part #100-12L.

4. SERVICING:
CAUTION: TURN O FF WATER BEFORE SERVICING.
A. Failure to draw chemical:
a. Low water pressure. At least 10 psi is required.
b. Dir t or chemical on outlet screens. Clean screens.
c. Detergent passage blocked. Back off adjusting screw. Remove proportioner and soak in hot water to clean internal
passages.
d. Foot valve clogged. Soak in hot water.
e. Lime deposits in water passages. Remove proportioner and soak in deliming solution.
f. Outlet hose is obstructed or too long.
B. Injects continuously
Chem ical con tain er is a bove level of fau cet. Pla ce container on floor or convenient place below level of faucet.
CAUTION: When se rvicing unit, be sure tha t replace ment pa rts have been insta l led according to drawing.

PERMISSION. RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER REQUIRED IN
ADVANCE OF RETURN.
WARRANTY: DEMA products are warranted against defective material and workmanship under normal use and
service for one year from the date of manufacture. This limited warranty does not apply to any
products which have a normal life shorter than one year or failure and damage caused by chemicals,
corrosion, improper voltage supply, physical abuse, or misapplication. Rubber and synthetic rubber
parts such as “o”- rin gs, diaphragm s, squeeze tubing an d gaskets are considered expendable and are
not covered under warranty. This warranty is extended only to the original buyer of DEMA products.
If products are altered or repaired without prior approval of DEMA, this warranty will be void.
Defective units or parts should be returned to the factory with transportation prepaid. If in spection
shows th em t o be defecti ve, th ey will be r epa ired or repl aced wit hout ch ar ge, F. O.B. fact ory. DEMA
assumes no liability for damages. Return merchandise authorization number, to return units for repair
or r ep lacemen t, must be gra nted i n advance of retu rn.
