2 | TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Degxel™ heaters are infrared heaters in accordance to the CE & ROHS (230V/50Hz) standards. They are
certied by the German inspection body TUV/GS. They are divided into several ranges:
Mirror heaters Glass heaters Picture heaters
Extra at heaters
Towel heaters Outdoor heaters
The infrared radiation (IR) is an electromagnetic radiation of a greater length than that the one of a visible light wave (so it is invisible). It is comparable to a sunlight that we cannot see but we feel the heat when we are exposed to it. A high temperature heat source emits infrared which are afterwards absorbed by a cold body that restore them again. The heat can therefore be transmitted without contact by infrared radiation.
Thermal radiation is transmitted through the surface of the heater. This surface consists of an optimal heating body for the radiation. This radiation is transmitted to the “objects” that the infrared waves encounter on their path
(oor, walls, ceiling, objects, people, etc.). The waves travel at 180° and are safe for humans. For more information

3 | INSTALLATION & MOUNTING OF THE HEATER
This appliance is an infrared heater dedicated exclusively to housing heating, as recommended below. The Degxel™ heaters can be installed in all interior parts of the housing.
Overview
Before connecting the appliance check that no anomalies are shown.
The installation and operation must be performed by a responsible adult having no physical or mental disability. The heater shouldn’t be in any case left within the reach of children before, during or after installation. Make sure that small children cannot reach the heater once installed.
Basically, the connection of the heater requires no electrical manipulation. Simply plug the appliance into a standard outlet. In case you want to hide the power cable behind the heater, call a professional.
Never pull the power cable and do not hang the unit by the cable. The cord should not be tied or wrapped. Take care so that the power cord is never in contact with sharp or hot surfaces so that it is never damaged.
Never cover the appliance during use to avoid any risk of re.
Always observe a minimum distance of 25 mm between the heater and the supporting wall. If you follow the installation instructions and the original equipment, this distance is automatic.
Only the heater frames provided by the manufacturer ensure your complete safety of use. Never replace the original frame and do not attempt to add another frame.
The location should be chosen taking into account several parameters
The heater must be installed on an open façade (limiting the number of immediate obstacle) allowing the infra-
red radiation to deploy with an angle as wide as possible to reach a maximum of objects (walls, ceiling, oor, etc.).
Always observe a minimum distance of 20 cm between the heater and any object lying above, beside or below. And a minimum distance of 40 cm in front of the heater.
Make sure the front of the wall (for hanging the heater) is at and solid in its structure (so there is no risk of
degradation or crumbling, therefore unhooking). If in doubt, call a professional.
Heater maintenance and cleaning
For your safety, the heater surface must be completely cold before dusting it off. It is forbidden to use any product like trichlorethylene solvents, abrasives, corrosives or similar products to clean the heater. It is forbidden to use water to clean the heater. Use a dry cloth to clean the front of the panel.
Mounting and xing the heater to a wall or ceiling
Follow carefully the installation instructions described in the separate manual supplied with your heater. Any installation not complying the instructions makes the warranty and manufacturer’s liability not applicable. If you feel not being able to achieve a proper installation, call a professional.

Short Description of heater xing steps: (see separate manual)
Check that all the following elements are present in the package without any sign of abnormalities. The mounting kit is composed of 2 steel brackets, 4x2 wall plugs, 4x2 screws. Make sure the wall plugs of the mounting kit are compatible with the material of your wall or ceiling.
Use a spirit level to draw precisely 2 crosses separated by a distance « A » (distance between centers). The accuracy of the layout is essential to obtain an accurate and safe assembly.
Take a xing plate and position the center of its circle aligned with the cross. Draw 4 locations for the holes
where you insert the wall plugs. Repeat for the other brackets. For wall mounting, the open part of the plate must be upward.
Drill holes (on the spotted locations)of the depth of the wall plugs. Insert the wall plugs with a hammer. Place the mounting plates on the wall or the ceiling and then insert the screws into the wall plugs. Perform a maximum suitable tightening without rotating the wall plug itself.
Before placing the heater on the mounting plates, make sure that the 4 white plastic pads (located at 4 extremities on the back) are screwed at their maximum. Place the heater on mounting plates. When the
heater is mounted to the wall lift it slightly, in order to reach the nal locked position. Manually unscrew the 4 white plastic pads of the heater until they touch the wall rmly. Check that the heater is blocked.

OPTION 2: Wireless Programmable Room Thermostat + Radio receiver
Overview
Perform the connection after turning off the power. The goal is to insert the radio receiver into the wall socket which is to be located behind the heater (for aesthetic reasons). If the electrical outlet is equipped with a front panel, you need to remove it in order to insert the receiver inside. Remove the cover of the wall socket and unhook the 3 power supply wires. Please note that the white box delivered with the receiver is useless for your conguration (do not use it). Using a wire cutter, cut off, free and stripp the 3 wires (N =Neutral=Blue, L= Li ve =Brown, E=Earth=Ground=Yellow/Green).
Connection diagram
As indicated on the diagram below, the Neutral (N) wire from source has 2 departures (divided in 2 parts). Use a domino or a wago terminal to make 2 departures from the Live (L) and 2 departures from Neutral (N) for connecting on the receiver and the heater. Do not forget to connect the ground wire (green-yellow) of the heater with the ground wire of the power supply (not present in this diagram).

OPERATING PROBLEMS
In case of operating problems we recommend you to access the following page www.degxel.co.uk/tutorial which contains all cases of errors and solving solutions. For the precise use of your thermostat functions (auto, comfort, eco, anti-freeze modes etc.) refer to the operating instructions supplied with the device.
The heater does not respond to the orders of the thermostat, does not switch on AND has never worked!
Switch to Comfort mode (one single triangle in position 2). With the + button adjust an elevated temperature (above the actual
room temperature indicated on the thermostat, for instance 27°C), then con rm with OK/INFO. Within a minute the heater
should switch on (you can hear a slight click indicating the trigger of the receiver in order to turn on the heater). Naturally the heater takes time to heat, you need to wait 2-3 minutes to feel its surface heated. >>> it still doesn’t work / possible causes:
- The  rst step has not been performed, has not been performed correctly, or the connection is incorrect.
- If despite your trials, the heater is not turned on by the thermostat, it may be that the receiver or the thermostat is in an “unstable” mode. Reset the receiver and the thermostat to their default values (see www.degxel.fr/tutorial) then repeat the coupling procedure as described in step 1.
- The thermostat is out of reach of the receiver. The 2 elements do not communicate (distance too great, receiver located behind a wall, PLC outlet or disturbance of other radio devices, etc.). Place the receiver within the communication range as indicated in the instructions. Disconnect the other disruptive elements (PLC, outlet controlled by radio, etc.). Repeat step 1.
The heater remains turned on meanwhile you have requested to turn it off using the thermostat!
A very simple solution is to switch the thermostat in ANTI-FREEZING mode (by default the heater does not heat if the temperature is > 7°C). Wait 30 minutes and see if the surface of the heater has cooled. If it’s the case, the heater respond correctly to orders coming from the thermostat, everything is in order.
The heater works from time to time but should not be working at all (during the summer for example)
The thermostat batteries were removed or are to be replaced. Other case: the thermostat is out of reach (distance, wall) of the heater (therefore of the receiver). The receiver switches automatically to degraded mode. After a 3h communication break, the heater will operate 1 minute every 10 minutes. Off season, we recommend you not to remove the batteries from the thermostat. You just need to switch the thermostat in anti-freezing mode to stop it.
# Important note :
In case of malfunctioning please read: www.degxel.co.uk/tutorial this will solve your problem. To use your thermostat, please refer to the English manual supplied with the thermostat.
