New StudioCinema 350 and 450 Systems

Definitive’s compact and elegant StudioCinema 350 and 450 systems
combine lifestyle convenience with premium mega-system performance.
They are the first complete matching 6-piece home-theater speaker system
packages to include ultra-compact super-high output subwoofers for an
extraordinary level of high-performance sound never before available in their
size and price range. The perfectly timbre-matched 350 system combines a
pair of new StudioMonitor 350 bookshelf speakers with a new 1250-watt
SuperCube II subwoofer, a C/L/R 2002 center channel and a pair of BP1.2X
bipolar rear/side surround speakers. The larger and more powerful step-up
StudioCinema 450 system, which is also perfectly timbre-matched, combines
a pair of new StudioMonitor 450s with the SuperCube II, a C/L/R 2000 center
channel and a pair of BP 2X bipolar rear/side surround speakers.

These richly and elegantly styled systems deliver superior sonic perform­ance with both music and movies for a multitude of reasons including:

• The StudioMonitor 350 and 450 are high-definition full-range speakers

whose extended low-frequency characteristics enable them to both sound

• The BP1.2X and BP2X bipolar surrounds achieve ideal performance by

synergistically combining the focus and specificity of direct-radiating sur­rounds (for superior performance with multi-track music) with the enhanced
spaciousness and dispersion of dipolar surrounds (for superior performance
with movies).

New SuperCube I and II Powered Subwoofers

The elegant and ultra-compact SuperCube subwoofers deliver ultimate
bass performance from beautiful enclosures that fit anywhere. They combine
Definitive-designed, digitally-coupled (patent-pending) Class D digital
switching amplifiers (1500-watts SuperCube I, 1250-watts SuperCube II) with
extremely long-throw, huge magnet, front-mounted subwoofer drivers
(10"–SuperCube I, 8"–SuperCube II) which are tightly coupled to dual side­mounted, pressure-driven infrasonic bass radiators (two 10"–SuperCube I,
two 8"–SuperCube II). The SuperCubes deliver incredibly deep, high-impact
low-frequency performance which extends below 13 Hz (SuperCube I) and
14 Hz (SuperCube II) with superbly tuneful high-definition transient response
for bass that sounds as good with delicate music as with earth-shaking action
movies. Both include complete input, output, level control, continuously vari­able high-pass and low-pass crossover facilities plus a continuously variable
phase control and direct-in LFE input. These remarkably compact super­woofers (14" cube– SuperCube I, 12" cube–SuperCube II) feature Definitive’s
signature piano-gloss black end caps and wraparound grille cloth styling.

New StudioMonitor 350 and 450 Compact Speakers

Definitive’s new StudioMonitors are very compact (SM450–13"H x 8

/8"W x 11 7/16" D, SM350–10 11/16"H x 7"W x 9 11/16" D) high-performance,
magnetically shielded full-range bookshelf speakers. Their non-resonant
monocoque cabinets feature Definitive’s elegant piano-gloss black lacquer
endcap/wraparound grille cloth styling. Enclosed are 1" pure aluminum dome
tweeters (the same basic tweeter used in our flagship BP3000

) perfectly
blended to Definitive’s signature cast-basket high-definition bass/midrange

/2"–SM450, 5 1/4"–SM350) tightly coupled to planar-technology
pressure-driven, side-mounted subwoofers (10"–SM450, 8"–SM350). The
StudioMonitors’sonic performance is truly stunning, producing huge razor­sharp, three-dimensional sonic images combined with incredible detail, ruler­flat frequency response and rich, full bass. Because the StudioMonitors are
true full-range speakers (SM450: 24 Hz-30kHz, SM350: 26 Hz-30kHz) with
extended low-frequency characteristics, they deliver superb performance both
as stand-alone speakers as well as when combined with separate subwoofers
(which they are designed to seamlessly blend with).
