Step 1: Open factory fuel door.
Unlock tab on existing fuel door
and slide the old door out.

Step 2: Cut off the “nipple”, or
piece extending from the
rectangular fuel door bracket.

Step 3: File and/or sand down
the cut off piece to make it as
smooth as possible.

Step 4: Take a pointed object
and poke into the hole at the

bottom of the locking housing to
pry out locking mechanism.
Once poked the mechanism
should slide right out.

Step 5: Take the metal locking
clip (provided) and slide onto
locking mechanism and clip into
place. Slide from the bottom of

the yellow upwards.

Step 6: Cut “nipple” off with
tin snips. Once cut push

back in. Take two pieces of
3M Automotive Tape
provided and stick once
piece to each side of the

locking mechanism.

Step 7: Peel off the red film from
the 3M Automotive Tape and spray

each piece of tape with Windex,
just enough to get it moist.

Step 8: Place the locking mechanism
back into the lock housing with the
tape and slide into place. Allow time
for the tape to dry and adhere.

Step 9: Notice the ridges (teeth) in the
replacement fuel door as well as the

rectangular fuel door bracket. Align the fuel
door and rectangular bracket so that the
ridges fit into place. Snap the door down
and slide it over so that it locks into place.

Step 10: Close the door, lock it, and enjoy your
brand new locking fuel door.
