Dedicated Micros unveils CamVu2000 IP Camera
Dedicated Micros has recently unveiled the CamVu2000, a powerful, rapidly deployable, high resolution IP CCTV camera. The sophisticated CamVu2000 has been designed to deliver images up to six times the resolution of analogue cameras – and offer a wide field of view to maximise coverage. Based on Dedicated Micros award winning NetVu Connected architecture, the CamVu2000’s technology allows seamless operation and integration with a wide range of NetVu Connected DVR’s and other devices.
Ideal for public space surveillance and the retail / banking environments, the CamVu2000 is able to be fitted both indoors and out (via external camera housing). In addition, the cameras site adjustment and set-up process has been designed to be as flexible as possible with web configuration pages enabling installers to adjust the camera’s features over the network without the need to return to the site.
High Definition
With up to 6 times the resolution of traditional analogue cameras, the CamVu2000 is able to provide greater image quality and resolution (up to 1600x1200 pixels) to identify suspects and incidents. With such crystal clear detail the user is able to cover larger areas with a single camera.
Multiple simultaneous MPEG-4 and JPEG Image Streams
The unique Visual Signal Processing (ViSP MPEG-4 and / or JPEG video to multiple users for viewing / capture – tailoring the stream to the user’s distinct requirements. This flexibility allows users to record high quality images for evidence to the DVR whilst simultaneously streaming video to another viewing platform (such as NetVu ObserVer).
Remote Configuration
Remote Configuration, site adjustment and set-up options for the CamVu 2000 have been designed to be as flexible as possible with web configuration pages enabling installers to adjust the camera’s features – such as resolution and record rate - over the network without the need to return to the site.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Reducing the cost and time of installing power in otherwise remote areas, CamVu2000 offers an optional PoE version allowing customers to use existing IP network cabling to power the camera.
Telemetry
Utilising the attached serial port, operators are able to pair the CamVu2000 with a pan & tilt housing to achieve telemetry control of the unit. Telemetry commands are transmitted over the network, allowing CamVu2000 to become a remote, high resolution pan and tilt camera. CamVu2000 is also compatible with the Dennard range of housings.
AnalyticsCapable
CamVu2000 contains AnalyticsCapable technology, allowing the unit to be upgraded with a suite of video analytics from our sister company D-Tec (www.dtec-analytics.com). Using analytics on CamVu can reduce bandwidth requirements across the rest of system whilst still allowing high definition images to be continually processed at the camera. Especially important if several high resolution cameras are required on a system. Achieved via a simple software upgrade and licence purchase, available analytics include; ANPR, Object Left, Object Removed and People Counting.
NetVu Connected
All products carrying the NetVu Connected mark, including CamVu2000 provide seamless connectivity and scalability whilst offering integration and control from an intuitive user interface, irrespective of user

TransCoding
Using TransCoding technology from the associated DVR, users are able to optimise their remote viewing stream to suit their bandwidth requirements without compromising record quality. For example users are able to view JPEG images captured from the CamVu remotely over bandwidth constrained networks using MPEG-4
MultiMode Recording*
MultiMode recording provides the ability to set different record rates, resolutions and compression algorithms across scheduled, normal and
alarm modes. The CamVu2000 contains four MultiMode Recording Profiles, loaded via the associated DVR.
*Feature will be supported in future software releases.
Compatible Recording Devices
CamVu2000 is compatible with the following NetVu Connected devices; DV-IP RT, DV-IP HD and HighVu Excel. Video Streams from the CamVu can be viewed remotely using FREE NetVu ObserVer software.
