CT3 Quick Start

1. Install two 9 Volt batteries (sold separately): one in the SEND side

and one in the RECEIVE side. A battery only needs to be installed in the RECEIVE side if using the banana connectors or tone generator. If testing a cable mounted in a wall, separate the SEND/RECEIVE boxes from the joining chassis by loosening the thumb screws.

2. Turn on the SEND side.

3. Connect one end of the cable to the SEND side. If any of the

yellow LEDs begin to flash, this indicates a short between the pins indicated. To prevent a short when testing a TS cable, insert it approximately half way or until the second click; when inserted properly to both sides, LEDs 1 and 3 will flash in sequence.

4. Connect the other end of the cable to the RECEIVE side. The green

LEDs will flash in sequential order to indicate the pin connections that pass. If the flash sequence is out of order, this indicates pins are crossed within the cable. Test speed can be adjusted using the TEST SPEED control on the SEND side.
