NSTALLATION MANUAL
The Sensor Mounting Shelf is for use with the Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) of
the Vantage ProTM system. The shelf has mounting provisions for a solar radiation sensor and a UV (ultraviolet) sensor . This manual contains instr uctions for
installing the shelf on the ISS; consult a sensor manual to mount it on the shelf.

Here is an illustration of the sensor mounting shelf installed on the ISS:
Note: This manual shows installation of the sensor mounting shelf before the
two round solar sensors have been attached to it. If you like, the solar sensors
can be mounted on the shelf before it is installed on the ISS. (Consult one of the
sensor manuals for instructions.) Final leveling of the sensors should be done
after the ISS is mounted in its operating location.

1. Place a support tube on one of
the two mounting holes in the
rain collector base.
2. Place a lock washer and a flat
washer onto one of the 7-3/4"
(19.7 cm) screws. Hold the
shelf so the support tube
screw hole is over the center
of the tube (see figures).
Insert the screw through
the shelf, the tube and the
base.
3. Hold a nut in the opening of
the hexagonal recess on the
underside of the base.
Turn the screw until the
assembly is loosely held
together.
4. Repeat steps 1–3 with the second support tube and screw.
5. On the underside of the shelf,
ensure that both tube-ends
are inside the circular
recesses in the shelf.
Tighten both screws.
