Selecting a Location for the Bracket
Orientation Guidelines
Use the following graphics as a guide for orienting and/or mounting your printer:
If the paper is fed from above the printer (Figure 2):
VMP 1000 X: 0° to 60 °
VMP 2000 X: 0° to 30°
If the paper is fed from below the printer (Figure 3):

General Guidelines
• Position the bracket and/or printer with enough room to properly open and close the printer.
• Position the bracket and/or printer so it is protected from environmental element s such a s moisture, tools, and boxes.
• Position the bracket and/or printer in a secure area in normal traffic patterns.
• Do not position the bracket above, ne ar, or relative to, the driver's position as to interfere with normal driving operations.
• Mount the bracket and/or printer away from the driver's head to eliminate potential injury in the event of an accident.
Cabling: All power to the printer must be fused. Make sure the fuse box is connected properly.
Hole centers: Left to right = 10 3/8". Up and down = 1 5/8". Recommended hole diameter for #10 pan head screw is 13/64" drill bit (.203").
Assembling the Bracket
1. Align the rubber feet under the mounting plate so that the ends of the mounting plate fit into the recesses of the rubber feet and the side with the rubber bosses are closest to the edge, facing up (Figure 4).
2. Attach the rubber feet to the mounting plate (Figure 5).
3. Place the foot caps over the mounting plate so that the recesses are facing up (Figure 6). The foot caps attach to the bracket when the bracket is mounted.
The following hardware (not included) is required for mounting:
(4) #10 pan head screws [screw length to be determined by the user]
(4) #10 washers (4) #10 hex nuts
(1) #8 torx driver bit [optional]
Note: You may need additional hand tools and mounting hardware depending on your installation.

1. Use the bracket as a template to mark the four mounting holes on the mounting surfac e. For information on mounting and/or installation, see the Orientation Guidelines in the previous section.
2. Drill the mounting holes at the marked locations.
3. Attach the bracket to the mounting surface using
#10-24 or #10-32 pan head screws and #10 washers. Thread the screws through the washers, bracket, foot caps, and mounting holes (Figure 7). Tighten securely.
4. If needed, use additional mounting hardware to
secure the bracket to the mounting surface. Proceed to Attaching the Printer.

2. Slide the printer onto the bracket. When attached, the security catch “clicks” into place
(Figure 9)
Note: For the printer to slide into place, the top of the locking screw head must clear the height of the outermost surface. The length of the screws varies for each installation and is to be determined by the user.
3. Secure the printer to the bracket using either the included #8-32, Torx or Phillips, pan head screw
(Figure 10).

Warranty
The Company warrants that Datamax-O’Neil products are free from defects in manufacturing materials and workmanship for one (1) year from date of original purchase to Buyer/Distributor (OEMs 90 days from the date of purchase). Batteries, cables, power supplies, and other accessories will be warranted for ninety (90) days. Datamax-O’Neil makes no other warranties, expressed or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness of purpose.
If you try to repair, disassemble, or change the product in any way, or use p arts not provided by Datamax-O’Neil without prior , written authorization, all warranties are void. For complete warranty and service information, see the Warranty Card included in your original packaging.
No Liability for Negligent Use
In no event shall Datamax-O’Neil be held liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitations, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of information, or other pecuniary loss) arising out of negligence in use and care of the product.
Attaching the Printer
1. Note the position of the printer in relation to the bracket (Figure 8).
Warning: To prevent the printer from dislodging, the printer must be secured to the bracket using a security screw . Failure to do so may cause injury or damage to the printer.
Note: When the printer is attached to the bracket, the paper feeds from bottom to top (Figure 1 and Figure 8).
