The Deluxe Dashmoun t Bracket w/ Paper Tra y ( 220154-0 00)
comes with the a bove items and the following (Fi g. 2):
• (1) Vibration Isolation Bracket Kit (220146 -000 )
• (4) 10 -32 x 1” Truss Machine Screw
• (4) ¼ - 20 Flat Washer
• (1) Cradle Bracke t Kit (220153 -00 0)
• (3) ¼ - 20 x 2” Socket Head cap Screw
• (3) ¼ - 20 Flat Washer
• (3) ¼ - 20 Lock Nut

Choosing a loc ation for the Dashmoun t Brac ket:
1. Position the bracket/printer with enough room to properly
open and close the printer.
2. Position the bracket/printer so it is protected from
environmental elements (i.e. moisture, tools, boxes, etc.).
3. Position the bracket/printer in a visibly secure area in
normal trac patterns.
4. DO N O T position the bracket a bove, near or relative to
the driver’s position as to interfere with normal driving
operations.
5. Moun t the bracket/printer awa y from th e dri ver ’s hea d
to eli mina te p oten tial injur y in the e ven t of an
accident.
6. Cabling – A ll power to the printer must be fused. Connect
fuse box properly.

As s embl y o f t he Dash mo unt Bracket:
1. Either Endcaps ma y be used on the left or right side.
Assemble the Endcaps to the D ash Mounting Plate using
(4) ¼ - 2 0 x 1 ¼ ” Screws, (4) ¼ -20 Washer, and (4) ¼ 20 Lock Nuts. In sert the screws from the outside through
the Dash Mounting Plate and then the Endcap. Place the
washe r over the exposed t hreads of the scre w and tighten
the assembly together with the locking nuts. Use a ratchet
wrench with 7/16 ” socket and 3/16” Allen wrench ( Fig. 3 ).
Be careful not t o o verti gh ten a s it may compress and
damage t he Endcaps. The screw shaft should protrude
no more tha n 1/8 ” past the nylon of the lock nut.

2. The Dashmount should appear e xactly as in Fi g. 4 .
3. The Printer Mounting Plate may be positioned in t wo
ways. First optio n (Fi g. 5 ) is with the paper exit ing the
printer up the angled Dashmount. Second option (
is w ith the pap er exiting do wn the angled Dashmount.
The user will determine the direction of the paper f eed.

4. Assemble the Printer Mounting Plate onto the Endcaps
using (4) ¼ - 20 x 1 ¼” Screw s , ( 4) ¼ -20 Washer, and (4)
¼ -20 Lock Nuts ( Fig. 7 ). Be careful not to over tighten
as it ma y compress and damage t he E ndcaps . T he
screw shaft should protrude n o more than 1/8 ” past the
nylon of the lock nut.

As s embl y o f t he Cradle Bracket (Deluxe Ki t):
Cradle Bracket (220153-000) is included with the Deluxe

Kit (220154-000) . It is also available separately. For the
Dashmount Kit (220151-000), which does not have the
Cradle Bracket, continue with the installation of the Paper
Tra y ( See next section).

2. Assemble the Cradle Bracket to either the left or right side
of the Dashmount with (3) ¼ - 20 x 2” Scre ws, (3 ) ¼ -20
Washers, and ( 3) ¼ -20 Lock Nuts ( Fig s . 9 & 10 ). In
addition, the Cradle Bracket ma y be installed at dierent
angles ( Figs. 11 & 12 ).

Insert the screws from the outside through the Cradle
Bracket and then the Endcap. Place the washer over the
exposed threads of the screw a nd tighten the assembl
together with the locking nuts. Side location and angle o

the Endcaps .

3. Secure the Cradle Bracket, once the appr opriate location
and angle are de termined, with the remaining hardware in
the appropriate angle adjustment holes.

1. Assemble the Paper Tray to the Dash Mounting Plate with
(4) #8-32 x ¼” Button head Screws with 3/32” Allen
wrench ( Fig. 13 ). Paper Tr ay may be installed with long
end towards the user or away from the user, depending
on dashboard conguration. The Dashmount with Pape
Tra y and Foam Block (smooth side up) should appear as
in Fig.14 .
2. Install Dashmount to dash via mounting holes and slots in
the Dash Mounting Plate.

Printer installation ( Dash mo unt Kit) :
1. Assemble the VMP-1000 printer to the Dashmount using
(4) #10-32 x 5/8” screws ( Fi g. 16 ). Tighten hardware at
the four mou nting slots at the bottom of the printer.
Secure printer to bracket w ith (1) #8-32 x 5/8 ” securit
screw.

As s embl y o f t he Vibrati on Isol ation Bracket (Deluxe Ki t):
1. Before mounting the Vibration Isolation Bracket (22 0146000, included in Deluxe Kit), make sure the Ru bber Feet
are on the Plate correctl y. The ends of the Plate should t
into the recess in the Rubber Feet. Put the side with the
rubber bosses closest to the edge facing up ( Fi g. 1 9).
2. Place Foot Caps on the Plate with the recesses facing up
and out.
3. Mount the b racket with (4) #10-32 x 1” screws and (4) # ¼
- 20 washers to (Fig. 20 ). Do N ot overtigh ten as it may
damage t he Foot Cap.
4. Top of screw head must clear the height of the uppermost
surface, for the printer to slide into

Printer installation (Deluxe Kit):
1. Note orientation of printer & locking rivets on bracket ( Fig.
21).
2. Slide printer into position until Locking Snap “clicks” (Fi g.
22).

3. Secure the printer to bracket with either the supplied #8-
32 security screw (special bit T15 Torx w/ security pin
required) or # 8 Phillip s pan
4. Route the power and data cables as shown in Figs. 16,
17, & 18 .
