1 Control Panel

Clicking the left button
displays the date and time.

Holding down the On/Off

button for 2 seconds will

turn the unit off.

Holding the left button
down for 1 second displays
the firmware version.

Clicking the right button will
display the battery level.

Holding the right butto down
for 1 second turns Bluetooth
on or off and displays its
status.

2 Set up a new scanning session

2.1 Reading & Saving Tag Data

To read and save your scan, proceed as follows:

Press S to enter the Menu
Press the left arrow 3 times, press S to open Data File Menu
Press S to create a “New File”

A new file appear with the title <BS+yymmdd_time>

Press the ON/OFF button 3 times until you are back to the reading screen

Your Bluestick and your data file are now ready for you to begin scanning your livestock.
All tags will be recorded in this data file until a new one is created.

NOTE: when a tag is read for the first time, the reader will beep and vibrate twice. If the tag is
read a second time, the reader will only beep and vibrate once and this second reading will not
recorded.

2.1.1 Continuous Reading Function

The Continuous Reading functions allows the user to scan uninterruptedly animals.

Press S to enter the Menu.
Press right arrow 2 times and open configuration Menu.
Press right arrow 2 times and select Continuous Reading. Press S to switch on/off the function.

2.2 How to Delete a File

Press S to enter the Menu.
Press left arrow 3 times, press S to open Data File Menu.

“New File” appear, press right arrow 2 times to select Delete File. Press S to browse or search
the file to delete.

Press the right arrow to find the file you want to delete.

Once the file has been deleted, press the POWER button twice to return to scanning mode.

NOTE: the Bluestick reader has a default File (BS+000000_0000) which can’t be deleted,
regardless of whether it contains or not any data.

3 Transfer data from Bluestick to your computer

Install the Rumisoft Software (already stored on the reader) on your pc to transfer data form the
reader to your pc.

For further information, refer to the Bluestick User Manual. You can download it from Datamars
website or connect the reader to your pc using the USB cable and open the folder Doc.
