Use the Recessed Media Box II to install low voltage cables behind your HDTV or other display device. The Recessed Media Box II is also designed to
be used with flexible tubing.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
This product is designed for retrofit work only because the old workbox cannot be attached to a stud.
WARNING:
Before installing this product, be sure the power is off by switching the circuit breaker to off or removing the fuse(s). Test the power to make
sure the power is off. Be sure to install the Recessed Box in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.

• Sheetrock Saw or Utility Knife

Installation Instructions:
Fig. 1: Cut out the supplied template from page 3 of this instruction sheet. Place the template on the wall in the desired install location. Using your pen
or pencil, trace the template on the wall. Then use a drywall saw or utility knife to cut a hole in the drywall the size of the template. See Figure 1 before
tracing your opening. Remember, this wall plate is designed to be installed between the studs. It cannot be installed on top of a stud.
Fig. 2: Run the source of power to the included Old Work Electrical Box. Be sure to follow all local electrical codes.
Fig. 3: Connect the décora style duplex receptacle to a piece of 14/2 wth ground UL approved electrical building wire (not included) following the
instruction sheet included with the electrical receptacle. Once you have wired the receptacle, screw it into the Old Work Electrical Box until the receptacle
is firmly secured as shown in Fig. 3.

Fig. 5: Before installing the Recessed Media Box II into the wall opening, make sure to pull your low voltage cables through the top and bottom openings
or the side opening.
If you are using flexible tubing, cut out either the 1” or 2” knockout (depending on your flexible tube hole size) from the snap-in cover plate, now run your
cables through the snap-in plate opening, then attach your flexible tubing to the snap-in cover and then snap the snap-in cover into the 5053-WH plate.
Fig. 6: Your new Recessed Media Box II is now installed and ready for the TV mount to be installed. Install your TV mount bracket per the TV bracket
manufacturer’s instructions.
