HW 228/328

District heating substation for large properties

Application

The HW 228/328 is made in a compact design and is especially suitable for supply of heating and domestic hot water for large pro-perties and apartment houses comprising 15-25 apartments. The HW 228/328 is available with Danfoss ECL 210 or 310 for control of both the heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit. The HW 228/328 variants offer capacities rangingfrom44to130kWheating(27to55 kW for one pipe systems) and 40 to 185 kW domestic hot water. Please contact our sales department and together we shall find the optimum solution for your exact requirements.

Construction

The HW228/328issuppliedwithabrazedplate heat exchanger for heating and domestic hot water production, electronic actuators, shut-off valves, non-return and safety valves, A-labelled low-energy pumps for heating and DHW recirculation, manoand thermometers, strainers, sensor pockets as well as differential pressure controller. Actuators and pumps are electrically wired from factory and supplied with CEE plug for connection to 220 V. The electronic control ECL 310 is prepared for WebAccess, which enablesremotecontrolandremotemonitoring via the internet/intranet.

The substations are delivered preassem-bled, electrically wired internally and the electronic control is tested for function and preset from factory. The substation can be

supplied with fitting piece for heat meter in the district heating supply and return pipe (to be specified when ordering).

Design

The HW 228/328 is designed for wall-mounting and during the construction much importance has been attached to a clear and user-friendly placement of all components.

The HW 228/328 is built on a frame of galvanized iron and offers variable connection possibilities, as connection of pipes can be established both in the top or in the bottom (standard) of the substation. The HW 228/328 can be supplied with a white-lacquered steel cover with door, which enables easy access for meter reading and service purposes.

Domestichotwaterrecirculation

As standard the HW 228/328 is supplied with a low-energy pump for domestic hot water recirculation and can easily be connected to existing systems with DHW recirculation. On new constructions it is recommended to establish domestic hot water recirculation, which ensures that hot water is produced immediately, when tapping starts. This ensures maximum DHW comfort og eliminates water wastage. If the HW 228/328 is connected to a system without recirculation, internal circulation must be established to prevent calcification.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Substation for apartment houses and small properties

Indirect heating - one or two heating circuits

• Connections for DHW cylinder on the secondary side

Electronic control of heating (HE) temperature

Capacity: 39 - 95 kW HE / 35 kW FH / 75 kW cylinder or radiator

Pipes connection in top or bottom of substation = Savings in installations costs

Pipes and plate heat exchanger made of stainless steel

Electrical wiring from factory - Plug & Play

HeatexchangersforDHWheating

The heat exchangers used in the HW 228/328 are brazed, highly efficient Danfoss plate heat exchanger, which has been tested and approved according to the PED-directive.

Meterreadingandsetting

The heat meter can be placed in the front part of the substation, easily readable. All thermometers are placed so they are easy to read. Components, which can be adjusted, are easily accessible.

Service ogmaintenance

The substation is very service-friendly due to practical piping and assembly with nuts and gaskets. It is mounted on the wall and as all pipes are placed in pipe bracket distance, it is possible to establish a nice piping.
