AM-PBU 25
Description
AM-PBU 25 is a standby power supply for AME 55 and AME
85 actuators. It will drive the actuators to open or closed
position during a power failure. The AM-PBU 25 can power one
AMV(E) 85/86 or two AMV(E) 55/56 actuators.

NO1 Normally Open, Output 1
AC 24 Vac output
C2 Common, Output 2
NC2 Normally Closed, Output 2
NO2 Normally Open, Output 2
Installation
1. Connect the VMS25 to the actuator(s) as shown.
Connect NC1 or NC2 to terminal 3 on an actuator to drive the valve stem down during power failure or to terminal
2 to drive the valve stem up during a power failure.
2. Connect AM-PBU 25 to 24 volts ac power.
3. Connect the red wire to the battery positive (+) and the black wire to the battery negative (-).
Connect the 24 volt power to the AM-PBU 25
before connecting the battery. Connecting
the battery rst causes the AM- PBU 25 to go
into the power failure mode.

Installation Guide AM-PBU 25
Testing the AM-PBU 25 and the battery
The jumper between LN & RC can be replaced by a connection to a Building Management System (BMS), a
controller or a manual switch. When the contact opens, the mains power is disconnected and the AM-PBU 25 goes
through a cycle, running on battery power. This feature can be used for remote control of the valve or for testing of
the battery.
Connecting terminals TG (-) and BT (+) to a BAS or volt meter and taking a reading just after an exercise cycle, gives a
good indication of battery condition. At the end of the cycle (6.5 minutes), the battery should not be below 10 V.
When the connection between LN & RC is restored the AM-PBU 25 will charge the battery with 13-14 volts dc wich
can be veried on terminals TG & BT.
