INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a Damage Control dual vacuum tube stomp-box. Our goal is to provide musicians with premium, no-compromise tools that inspire musical performance and creativity. We are confident that you will find our products to be of lasting value.
The Liquid Blues and Solid Metal are premium-quality tone-generating pedals that feature dual 12AX7 tubes biased at 250V internally , with switchable Nuclear gain boost, aluminum die-cast chassis, remote switching, true bypass, and comprehensive LED indicators.
PRECAUTIONS
LIQUID BLUES CONTROLS
The 12AX7 tube circuits run at dangerous internal voltages. Never remove the back panel of the unit. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
Use only with the supplied AC power adapter. Avoid spilling liquids into the unit. Do not expose the unit to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight. Refer all service and repairs to a qualified certified technician. Unplug unit when not is use.
OVERVIEW
Liquid Blues - The Liquid Blues combines studio-quality optical compression with its tube
stages to allow for precise control over clipping dynamics. The Clarity control enhances articulation even when higher gain settings are used. From clean compressed boost to sustained bluesy overdrive, the Liquid Blues delivers its tone transparently.
Solid Metal – The Solid Metal’s dual gain configuration maximizes complex clipping harmonics and retains musical clarity even with super-saturated distortion. The Scoop, Bass, and Treble controls are musically voiced to produce a wide arrray of premium highgain tones.
FOOTSWITCHES
Engage – switches the pedal from TRUE BYPASS to ON, and vice versa. The input signal
will pass directly to the output jack with no power supplied to the pedal, due to the TRUE BYPASS nature of the circuit.
Nuclear – boosts the drive of the tube gain stages.
TOP PANEL INDICATORS
Magic Eye – indicate the state of the pedal. Green for BYPASS, orange for ENGAGE
without NUCLEAR boost, and red for ENGAGE with NUCLEAR boost. Left Tube Stasis Chamber – indicate the state of the pedal. Green for BYPASS, orange
for ENGAGED without nuclear boost, and red for ENGAGED with NUCLEAR boost. Right Tube Stasis Chamber – Indicates the state of the NUCLEAR switch. The chamber
glows orange when NUCLEAR boost is OFF, and RED when NUCLEAR boost is ON
BACK PANEL JACKS
Input – Connect your guitar here. Amplifier Out –Connect to guitar amplifier input. Remote – Remote access to the ENGAGE and NUCLEAR footswitches via a stereo jack.
ENGAGE is switched ON when the tip is connected to the sleeve, and NUCLEAR is switched ON when the ring is connected to the sleeve.
Level – adjusts the signal output level. The Liquid Blues is capable of providing large signal levels to your amplifier, so start with the Level control low, and increase gradually.
Drive – adjusts the amount of tube drive. At low levels, clean tones can be achieved. Gain increases smoothly as you turn the knob clockwise to overdriven tones.
Opto Comp – adjusts the amount of input signal compression from no compression to a maximum compression of 20dB as you turn the knob clockwise. The compression occurs before the tube gain stages, allowing for precise control of the clipping dynamics. Reduce the compression for maximum touch-sensitivity, and incresase compression for smoother clipping.
Clarity - blends in the pre-tube compressed signal with the tube-driven signal, allowing for highly articulate and responsive tones. As you turn up the Clarity control, the pre-tube signal is progressively filtered to produce a musically fat tone.
Tr eble - adjusts the high end of the Liquid Blues, allowing for biting tones at higher settings, to mellower tones at lower settings.

SOLID METAL CONTROLS
Level – adjusts the signal output level. The Solid Metal is capable of providing large signal
levels to your amplifier, so start with the Level control low, and increase gradually. Drive – adjusts the amount of tube drive. At minimum settings, the Solid Metal’s tubes will
clip moderately, increasing smoothly to fully saturated high gain at maximum settings. Treble - adjusts the high end of the Solid Metal, allowing for razor-sharp tones at higher
settings, to smoother tones at lower settings. In general, increase Treble with higher Scoop settings, and decrease Treble with lower Scoop settings. With Treble at minimum, fat and singing lead tones are achieved.
Bass - adjusts the low-end punch of the Solid Metal. The Bass control is voiced to kick your speaker cabinet’s resonance without adding excessive coloration to your sound.
Scoop - adjusts the frequency and shape of the mid scoop. The frequency and width of the Scoop increase, producing more progressive metal tones as you turn the knob clockwise.
