ZENSOR series.
In the course of nearly three decades, DALI has developed, designed, and
produced high standard loudspeakers for more than a million homes across the
world. We only succeeded in doing this by always being curious, moving ahead –
and yet sticking to our core values and roots.
Victor Hugo was certainly on to something!

The ZENSOR series is living proof of this. A genuinely affordable hi-fi loudspeaker
unmistakably based upon the heritage of DALI’s High End series. And packed with
more in-house technology, new ideas, and its very own visual DALI identity.
Consisting of five models, the ZENSOR range covers every need - from a compact
stereo configuration to an ambitious multi-channel set up. The smallest model
includes an integrated wall bracket for easy mounting, and both the floor-standing
models and the subwoofer are elevated from the floor on aluminium bases to
refine acoustics and stability.
Last, but not least, their appearance is a real eye pleaser. Featuring aluminium
style details, integrated in the high gloss lacquered front baffle as a natural
extension of the sleek cabinet, the ZENSORS's stylish form is contemporary, yet
timeless and stylish. A design that fits well into any home, whichever set up
solution you prefer to enjoy your favourite music or movie from.
With core DALI values present in every single detail and aspect, The ZENSOR
series is rooted in our highly respected sound principles. Yet, never settles in its

Standing 97.8 cm tall, the flagship model of the series is distinctive
and handsome in its contemporary high-gloss lacquered finish. If
you crave the full blown sonic experience in a mid to large sized
room, this is the way to go!

Being the Magnus Opus of the series, only ZENSOR 7 is equipped
with
2x7” woofers. The larger cone area on all ZENSOR’s compared to
market
standards ensures a highly effortless and authentic reproduction
of musical dynamics. Add to this a 25 mm dome tweeter where the
mass of the dome material has been reduced significantly to offer the
utmost accuracy in the reproduction of high frequencies.
Every detail has been handled with care. The stylish, rounded
edges reduce
diffraction to minimize distortion; solid aluminium
style features compliment the front baffle; an aluminium base
raises the speaker from the floor; and a detachable front grille is
included for protection and to offer visual alternative.
Our vision is not to make another traditional loudspeaker,
but instead
to offer a unique and fully satisfying experience based upon our roots
and core values. Thus ZENSOR 7 is a truly potent loudspeaker, capable
of reproducing the finest details from a stereo signal – by itself or as
forceful front speaker in a surround set up.
Tweeter | With a clear heritage from our high end series, the lightweight dome
tweeter offers best in class resolution. It features timing due to the position of
the tweeter, minimised compression and increased power handling, thanks to the
vented voice coil former. The damping material under the dome minimises
reflections from the pole piece.
Wood Fibre Cones | Both the 51/4” and the 7” ZENSOR woofers feature
4-layer voice coils for maximum control of the wood fibre cone. The low loss
construction is ensured by a rigid metal basket and meticulously optimised
cone. The result is bass authority, well-controlled reproduction of micro-detail
and great transient capabilities.

Today, we all expect that little extra care and attention, when it comes
to the visual appearance, performance and details. The ZENSOR 5
more than lives up to these expectations.
The ZENSOR 5 front baffle features the exclusive ZENSOR high-gloss
lacquered finish, while high-grade vinyl adds an inviting, smooth look
to the cabinet made of medium density fibreboard, incorporating
soundproof material and internal bracings.
Like its big brother, the ZENSOR 5 highlights a line of prominent
features such as removable front grille, steady aluminium base, front
mounted bass reflex port, and a single-wired connection input of
premium quality. 15 cm shorter than its larger sibling yet still more
than 80 cm tall, the floor-standing ZENSOR 5 will prove to be a
recognizable and modern companion blending into your home décor
with discreet good taste.
Naturally, the 2 x 5 ¼” woofers are completely newly developed, drawing
on a comprehensive heritage of successful DALI woofers. While the
low-loss construction guarantees optimised cone and suspension for
lasting enjoyment of the entire soundscape.
ZENSOR 5 is where to look, if you wish to embellish your home
environment with an authoritative and realistic performer that never
leaves a doubt as to its origin in DALI High End heritage.

Cabinet | CNC machined MDF board, dressed in a top-of-the-class laminate
forms the framework of the speaker. In addition, the floor-standing models
feature
strong internal bracing to reduce structural resonances.
In order to optimise timing, the ZENSOR’s are fitted with acoustic damping
material internally along the sides, top and bottom - but not on the rear side
of the front baffle as this creates a more direct contact between woofer and
bass port. The audible result is a more precise bass and increased ‘attack’ in
the midrange.
The elegant aluminium base elevates the floor-standing models.

DALI ZENSOR 1
Combining the best features from the compact ZENSOR 1 and the
flagship ZENSOR 7, the ZENSOR 3 works equally well on a stand or
on a bookshelf and will fit easily into any mid-sized to larger rooms.
Despite the compact look ZENSOR 3 is equipped with a 7” woofer.

The woofer cones are made from a blend of fine grained paper pulp
reinforced with wood fibre, which ensures that every micro detail in
the signal is reproduced unfiltered. This allows it to generate a large
soundscape, and a surprisingly deep and precise bass.
This sonic experience is achieved through utilization of DALI low-loss
technologies. Combined with the ultra-low mass soft dome tweeter
the result is a very detailed mid-range and high-frequency which
delivers optimum reproduction of both music and movie sound.

Making sense! That’s what ZENSOR 1 is all about, packing as much
legacy and music as possible into a slim and compact cabinet that
you can carry home under your arm.
The versatile ZENSOR 1 is ideal as an all-round stereo loudspeaker
ideally positioned in small to medium sized rooms. It even works
well as front speaker in a 2.1 stereo set-up or as a rear speaker in
5.1 systems including a subwoofer, as a refined, yet powerful sound
source.
Distinguished by such well-known DALI signature elements as the
light and yet stiff wood fibre cones, ZENSOR 1 delivers a highly

DALI CONNECT stand E-600
Placement of the speaker is one of the most important things when
setting up a sound system. Placing a stand speaker the correct
distance from the floor is a very big part of getting the optimum
audio experience. The DALI CONNECT Stand E-600 is developed to
achieve just that, offering a very elegant support solution to the
DALI ZENSOR, DALI LEKTOR, DALI IKON series stand speakers and is
made to perfectly fit the DALI MENTOR MENUET.
Standing on a delicate cut but very robust silk matte painted glass
plate the DALI CONNECT Stand E-600 measures 602 mm. The
high-gloss lacquered aluminium
tube includes cable managements
and the black painted iron top plate
includes adhesive areas to securely
hold the speaker to the stand.
Enclosure | The high gloss front baffle complements the high-grade laminate
enclosure and offers an exclusive look and feel. The round edges not only
please the eye, but also reduce diffractions, minimising distortion in the
listening experience.
Terminals | High quality DALI terminals secure maximum grip on speaker
cables, whether raw or fitted with banana plugs.

DALI ZENSOR VOKAL
Blood is thicker than water – and ZENSOR VOKAL is created specifically
to match the timbre and tonal balance of its family.
The centre loudspeaker is a crucial aspect of home cinema, since this
is where the majority of dialogue in movie soundtracks is to be found.
ZENSOR VOKAL is engineered to fulfil its purpose: to establish a realistic
voice and surround illusion.
The sonic integration abilities of ZENSOR VOKAL, ideal for shelf mounting below your TV screen, is convincing as is the voice matching to the
other models of the range. ZENSOR VOKAL includes a front-mounted
bass reflex port and is a perfect match for the DALI SUB E-12 F.
ZENSOR VOKAL is the centre loudspeaker to complete that sonic feeling
of being there yourself.

DALI SUB E-12 F
The heart of this subwoofer is the 12” front-firing long-stroke woofer.
It is powered by an ultra-efficient Class-D amplifier. Embracing
classic DALI design elements, the E-12 F will deliver a seamless
low frequency extension of your AV system and the powerful, wellbalanced bass reproduction will flawlessly integrate with your main
speakers.
The aluminium cone woofer is capable of moving plenty of air with
power and pistonic precision. The heavy system wields a massive
4-layer, long-stroke voice coil for maximum control and efficient use
of the subwoofer’s magnetic field. The oversized, down-firing bass
port adds extra “virtual cone surface” at the lowest frequencies
leading to less stress of the 12” woofer and subsequently a lower
total distortion in the speakers entire operating range.
DALI IKON SUB MK2
In most music and movie production of today, base has a top level
priority. The IKON SUB MK2 is designed to be a highly flexible and
comprehensive solution to all your bass needs: Powerful, full-bodied,
fast and well defined.
The bass performance of The IKON SUB MK2 is superb because of
the careful matching of driver, enclosure and amplifier. The cabinet
sports a solid two-layer front baffle in order to create the ultimate
working environment for the 12” front-firing long-stroke woofer,
while the cabinet itself is elevated from a base beneath. The gap
above the bass is carefully tuned to extend the length and to widen
the propagation of the lowest frequencies in order to eliminate
turbulence and other distortions which occur at high air speeds.
The IKON SUB MK2 is a surprisingly cost-effective solution and
offers both impressive bass for movies and acoustic coherence for
your stereo system - and for your living room.

DALI ZENSOR 5 5.1 system was awarded Best traditional package £700-£1500
"It's no bloater, but there’s nothing all that discreet about the Zensor 5 5.1 set-up – by the standards
of floor standing speakers the Zensor 5s up front are tidily proportioned, but the Vokal centre is a
fairly hefty item, and just because the Zensor 1s have wall-hanging brackets on their back panels,
that doesn’t mean they’re not going to intrude into your room. The E-12F subwoofer is the same as
that included in the equally successful Fazon 3 5.1 package on p74 – and it’s an effective device,
too, working in conjunction with its Zensor partners just as impressively as it does with the Fazon
satellites.
The DALI’s facility with movie soundtracks is discussed in the First Test, so here we’ll mention its equally
laudable way with music. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack to Talking Heads’ Stop Making
Sense is described in painstaking detail by the Zensor 5 5.1, with crisply attacking percussives at
the top of the frequency range, expression and bite in the midrange (where the Vokal centre channel
really shines) and deep, sinuous low frequencies from both the front speakers and the subwoofer.
Integration is impressive, timing is confident and rhythms sound unforced and natural. The sense of
performance is tangible and vivid, and the DALI is unflinching in the face of even the biggest dynamic
disruptions.
In conclusion, we’ll lift a quote from the Zensor 5 5.1’s First Test: “this is a brilliantly realised set-up
and cracking value for money”. For £1300 you really can’t go wrong”.
