The PR-4000 receiver is compatible with all Dakota Alert 4000 Series transmitters. The PR-4000 is capable of receiving and storing alert signals from 16 dierent 4000 Series transmitters. When a signal is received, the zone will be displayed on the LCD screen and the receiver can be set to give an audible tone or a silent vibrate alert. The PR-4000 can store up to 200 event logs for each of the zones with time and date stamp. The portable receiver is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery which will hold a charge for about a week.

CHARGING THE PR-4000
• The charging port is located on the left side of the PR-4000 below the power button.
• This can be charged with any USB micro charger.
• The battery icon will blink while charging
• Charge time will typically be 6-8 hours. Note: If the PR-4000 battery is dead for several months, all programming may be lost.
POWERING THE PR-4000
Press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds. To turn the power o, unlock the keypad then press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.
LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE KEYPAD
• A key icon will appear at the top of the display when the keypad is locked.
• To unlock the keys, press and release the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time. The key icon will disappear.
• To lock the keypad, press and release the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time. The key icon will appear. NOTE: If no buttons are pressed for 15 seconds, the keypad will automatically lock.

SETTINGS-volume, vibrate and time/date
VOLUME
• Press and release the power button to clear the “Zone” and “TTL”.
• With the keypad unlocked, press and release the MODE button.
• The speaker icon will ash in the display.
• Use the up and down arrows to select the desired level of volume (0-4)
VIBRATE
• Press the MODE button again to select the vibrate icon .
• While the icon is ashing use the UP and DOWN arrows to select vibrate “on” or “o”. TIME/DATE
• Press the MODE button again to select the time setting.
• While the hour is ashing, use the UP and DOWN arrows to select the hour.
• Press the MODE button to continue to the minutes then use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the minutes.
• Press the MODE button again to continue to the month then use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the month.
• Press the MODE button again to continue to the day then use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the day.
• Press the MODE button again to continue to the year then use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the year.
NOTE: To exit the settings menu, press and release the power button.

PROGRAMMING (LEARNING) SENSORS TO THE PR-4000
• The PR-4000 can accept up to 16 dierent Dakota Alert 4000 Series sensors.
• Press and release the POWER button to clear the “ZONE” and “TTL”.
• With the keypad unlocked, press the MODE and UP key at the same time and then release.
• You will now see “COdE LEArnInG” in the display. (FIGURE 1)
• Use the DOWN button to select the zone that you would like to program (1-16). **If the zone is already occupied, “USE” will show in the display.
• Use the UP button to select the tune that you want to play when the zone is activated. (TABLE 1)
• Activate the sensor that you want to use with that zone (please refer to sensor manual for activation instructions).
• The display will now show “USE” to indicate that the sensor has been programmed to that zone.
• If you are using more than one sensor with the PR-4000, use the DOWN button to move on to the next zone that you would like to program.
• Repeat for further sensors.
NOTE: To exit programming, press and release the power button.

NOTE: Each sensor can only occupy one zone of the PR-4000. If you program a sensor more than once, it will remember the last zone it was programmed to and will no longer be programmed to the previous zone.

DELETING (CLEARING) SENSORS FROM THE PR-4000
• Press and release the POWER button to clear the “ZONE” and “TTL”.
• With the keypad unlocked, press the MODE and UP key at the same time and then release.
• While in programming mode, use the DOWN button to toggle through the zones (1-16).
• If the display reads “USE”, the zone is occupied by a sensor.
• To delete the sensor from the zone, press and hold the MODE button for 2 seconds. “DEL” and “COdE CLEArInG” will appear in the screen. (FIGURE 2)
• Press the MODE and DOWN button at the same time and release. The display will now show “ADD” and “COdE LEArnInG” for that zone. You can either program a sensor to that zone or continue on by pressing the DOWN button to move on to the next zone.
NOTE: To exit programming, press and release the power button.

LOW BATTERY ALERT IN SENSOR
If a sensor has a low battery the PR-4000 display will read “LO bAttEry” when a signal is received from that sensor. (FIGURE 3) Follow the instructions of the sensor for advice and guidance on changing the battery.

ALERT LOG
• The PR-4000 can store up to 200 event logs for each of the zones with time and date stamp.
• Press and release the power button to clear the “Zone” and “TTL”.
• To view the log, rst unlock the keypad. Press the MODE and DOWN buttons at the same time and release.
• Use the DOWN button to toggle through the 16 zones to see the total (TTL) number of activations.
• To view the history of a zone, use the UP button to toggle back through the history. The most recent activation will appear rst.
• To clear the event log for any given zone, press and hold the MODE button for 2 seconds while on that zone. The display will read “rECd CLEArInG”. (FIGURE 4)
• Press the MODE and DOWN button at the same time and release. The memory is now cleared from that zone.
NOTE: To exit the alert log, press and release the power button.

FACTORY DEFAULT
To delete all settings and sensor memory, use a small paper clip to poke through the hole between the power button and the USB charging port. You will feel a small click when you press the reset button. The display will default to the original factory setting and no senors will be programmed to the PR-4000.

WARRANTY
Dakota Alert warrants this product to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, abuse, act of God, or improper operation. If this product does become defective, simply return it to Dakota Alert. Please include a note describing the troubles along with your name, address and phone number as well as the original sales receipt. If the product is covered under warranty it will be repaired or replaced at no charge. If it is not covered under warranty, you
will be notied of any charges before work is done.
