Important Safeguard and Warnings
1Electrical Safety
All installation and operation should conform to your local electrical safety codes. The product must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. We assume no liability or responsibility for all the fires or electric shock caused by improper handling or installation.
2Installation
Keep upward. Handle with care. Do not apply power to the unit before completing installation.
3Qualified Engineers Needed
All installation here should be done by the qualified engineers. All the examination and repair should be done by the qualified service engineers. We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or attempted repair.
4Environment
The server shall be installed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, inflammable, explosive substances and etc.
5 Maintenance
Disconnect all power-supply before opening upper lid or maintenance in case of getting shock. Please replace the lithium battery of the same model after the old lithium battery got damaged.
6. About Accessories
Be sure to use all the accessories recommended by manufacturer.
Contact you local retailer ASAP if something is missing or damaged in your package.
7. Disk Replacement
When replace the disk, please make sure you are using the same model from the same manufacturer and of the same capacity!

1 Overview

The ESS internet intelligent storage unit is a storage disk array product. It provides standard network file share service and realizes IPSAN/NAS total solutions. It is a centralized storage solutions of high-capacity, high expansion, and high security. The host supports disk array enclosure to extend its storage capacity. The disk array enclosure is mainly to connect the host to extend network storage device capacity.

1.1 Model List

This users manual is to introduce the following products. Please refer to the following sheet for detailed information.

1.4 ESS3116X

1.4.1 Front Panel

The front panel is shown as in Figure 2-1. In Figure 2-1, you can view HDD serial number. The value ranges from left to the right. You can see the 13th to 16th at the bottom of the unit. You can use the HDD bracket in the chassis to install HDD.
a) Pull out HDD bracket from the front panel. b) Use four screws to fix one HDD in the HDD bracket firmly.
