IDENTIFYING THE CORRECT VOLTAGE AND POLARITY
SETTINGS FOR THE CONNECT EQUIPMENT AND
ADJUSTING TH E PRODUCT ACCORDINGLY IS THE USER’S

Failure to adjust the adapter set tings to match the
requireme nts of the connected device can result in d amage to
the device.
1. Identify the correct plug tip that ts in the device you wish
to power.
2. Identify the polari ty required for the device you are
connecting. The polarity will typically be identied in either
the user’s manua l or on the input specications on the
device itself (see ‘Polarity Markin gs’ section). Turn the tip
you are inser ting into the adapter cord so that the ‘

on the tip lines u p with either the ‘+’ or ‘–‘ symbol on the
adapter cord d epending o n whether po sitive ‘+’ or negative
‘–‘ polarit y is required. If the device i s not polarized, either
setting ca n be used. If the d evice does not have a polarit y
specication, contact the manufacturer of the device and
ask them. Using an incorrect polar ity can damage the
device.
3. Set the volta ge switch to the required volta ge for the devic e
you are conne cting. The vol tage requi red will typically
be identied in either the user’s manual or on the inpu t
specications on the device itself. If you cannot determine
the proper voltage, cont act the manufacturer of th e device
and ask them. Using an incorrect volt age can dam age the
device.
4. Plug the adapter cord into the d evice then pl ug the AC power
cord for the ad apter into a sta ndard 120V outlet. If the device
does not function, unplug the AC power cord from the outl et
immediately. Check to make sure the voltage and p olarity
settings b eing used a re correct.
PolAR Ity MAR kINGs
When looking for polarity markings on the devic e you wish to
power with the Cy berPower Universal AC adapter, they will
typically be identied as such:
Dependin g on the device, th e orientation of the positive and
negative poles in the depiction may be rever sed but, if the
device requi res positive polarity, the ‘–’ symbol will be on th e
side with the ‘C’ sh aped arc. If negative pola rity is required,
the ‘+‘ symbol will be on the side wi th the ‘C’ shaped arc.

CyberPower warrants the Universal Power Ad apters to be
free from defect in material or manufacturing for on e years.
If a defect results in product failure during its normal use,
CyberPower’s sole responsibility is to re pair or repl ace (as
its sole optio n) the Universal Power Adapter. The fore going
Limited Warra nty is the consumer’s sole and exclusive reme dy
and excludes any incidenta l or consequential dam ages. Some
States do not allow the exclusion o r limitation of incidental
and consequential damages, so ce rtain parts of the above
limitation s or exclusions may not apply to you (the Consumer).
This limited warranty gives the Consumer specic legal rights
and the Consu mer may have other r ights, which vary from
State to State.
