DISPLAY COOLER CURTAINS
A refrigeration specialist should take part in the installation.
The curtains will significantly lower the case temperature, so the
thermostat control must be adjusted accordingly.
It is advisable to use a thermostat temperature control rather than
Defrost cycles may also require adjustments.

The curtain is meant to attach at the top and hang down over the front of the kick rail. The top of the curtain is attached by means of a Velcro (hook & loop) fastening system. The loop (soft) part of the Velcro is already attached to the curtain itself. The hook (harder) part is the loose strip that has been shipped with the curtain. This strip has an adhesive back, which will be attached either to the canopy face; or to the vertical metal plate just inside the ambient air screen (with cases using an ambient air screen).
Installation with ambient air screen
If the case uses an ambient air screen, it is imperative that the Caser be mounted inside of that air flow, so the warm air flows outside of the vinyl curtain. Or, install a switch to de-energize the ambient air curtain while the Caser is in use. Thoroughly clean and dry the metal plate surface. Then attach the hook Velcro to it (in a continuous strip) pressing it hard into place. (Caution: do not run your fingers over the hook material as it may cause skin burns). Allow at least one hour for the adhesive to set before installing the curtains.
NOTE: Recommended mounting is on the exterior canopy facing. Be sure, however, to turn off the ambient fans, to avoid trapping the warm air inside the case.
Thoroughly clean and dry the canopy facing. Remove the paper backing from the Velcro strip (hook side) and attach to the face in a continuous strip. Be sure the Velcro strip is straight and level with the floor before pressing hard into place.
(Caution: do not run your fingers over the hook material as it may cause skin burns).
Allow at least one hour for the adhesive to set before installing the curtains.
For stocking or cleaning the case, each curtain can be folded in half by using the Velcro pieces on the front of each curtain. This eliminates the need of completely removing each curtain or having to throw it over the top of the case.

• Attach the curtains by pressing the soft (loop) strip on the curtains to the hard (hook) strip on the case.
• Cleaning can be done with warm water. A recommended cleaning solution is a 10/1 mix of water/mild detergent in a spray bottle. Spray the cleaner on two clean cloths or paper towels and, holding one in each hand, pull down on each strip. Liquid sprays made special for vinyl also work well.
•To prolong curtain life, it is advisable to rotate curtains every 2-4 weeks to help reduce the wear on curtains positioned over busy sections of the case.

Installation with no ambient air screen
• Check to make sure none of the multideck cases are air defrost. The Caser will not work on air defrost cases.
• Install the Caser behind the ambient air band on the cases. Not all cases have the ambient band. This must be checked. Ambient fans must be disconnected and a sheet metal block installed in the fan housing, so the refrigerated air and ambient air cannot mix. This is very important. The case will not operate properly if this is not completed.
• Coolers will run much colder after the Caser curtains are installed. Check cooler temperatures after 24 hours and reset thermostat if necessary.
• Defrosting - Defrost cycles in time and occurrence will be shorter and fewer.
• All refrigeration controls must be checked to see if they are operating properly. If you are unfamiliar with the cooler settings, have a refrigeration contractor check all the cooler controls and set if necessary.
• Check all anti-sweat heaters in the coolers to see if they are working properly. Price tag molding heaters can be disconnected - big energy savings when used with the Caser. Talk to customer about using time clocks or dew point sensors to cycle the remaining antisweat heaters.
