Before troubleshooting this fault code, troubleshoot any fault code that is active or has more than one inactive count
within the last 25 engine operating hours from the following list:

Verification
Conditions
•Turn keyswitch ON.
Action
•Verify the fuel system is primed. Refer to Procedure 005-234
•Measure the fuel pump gear pump outlet pressure at idle and at high idle. Refer to Procedure 005-236
•If engine will not start, then perform the check during cranking.

•If the fuel pump gear pump outlet pressure is not within specification, then proceed to Linked Solutions section.

•Use the recommended Cummins® electronic service tool or equivalent to find the current ECM code and revision
number in the ECM.
•Compare the ECM code and revision number in the ECM to the calibration revisions listed in the ECM Calibration

•If engine will not start, then perform the check during cranking.
•Inspect for air being ingested into the fuel. Refer to Procedure 006-003

•Connect the fuel extension line.
Action
•Run the engine at idle.
•Use the recommended Cummins® electronic service tool or equivalent.
•Perform the Aftertreatment Fuel Injector Leak Test. Refer to Procedure 011-054

•If fuel does not flow continuously from the line during the 60 second aftertreatment fuel injector flow test, then a
malfunctioning aftertreatment fuel shutoff valve has been detected.

pump has been detected.
