The PerfecTemp Teakettle is suitable for all hobs: gas, electric, ceramic, halogen, radiant,
induction and ranges fired by gas, oil, coal or wood. Never use Cuisinart kettles on high heat.
A low to medium heat setting is recommended. To boil water in your kettle, a medium high
setting is sufficient. Never leave your Cuisinart PerfecTemp Teakettle empty over a hot hob
and never allow to boil dry. Follow the max fill level line on the back of the handle and do
not heat without water in the kettle. You may ruin the kettle and may even cause damage
to the oven-top.

Wash kettle in hot water then fill with clean water and bring to the boil and discard water.
Wipe dry immediately with a soft tea towel. We do not recommend cleaning your Cuisinart
PerfecTemp Teakettle in the dishwasher.

BREWING BASICS

For best results, use a good quality loose leaf or bagged tea. Measure carefully –
approximately 3g of dry tea, the equivalent to measuring one rounded teaspoon, should be
used for each 170ml of water or per cup. Tea should be stored in an airtight container at
room temperature to preserve its optimal taste.

Since the majority of the contents of a cup of tea is still water, it is imperative to start with
fresh cold water, filtered or bottled if possible. When filling your Cuisinart PerfecTemp
Teakettle with water, be sure not to exceed its maximum fill capacity. Refer to the maximum
fill line located on the base of the kettle’s handle that indicates its maximum capacity and do
not fill kettle higher than this level. Ensure that there is a sufficient amount of water in the
kettle when using over a heat source, so that it does not boil dry.

Once water has completed initial warm up with each use, the temperature gauge yields
quicker and therefore more precise readings. On initial (cold) start-up, overshoot desired
temperature by 10 degrees and reduce heat until dial reads desired temperature.

Subsequent heat ups from an elevated temperature state* are precise.
*An elevated temperature state is when indicator pin falls within blue shaded range of dial.

It is also important to preheat the teapot or cup in which the tea will be steeped, to optimise
extraction for the ideal tea flavour. If very hot or boiling water is poured into a cold teapot
or mug, the water’s temperature will immediately drop by several degrees and inhibit the

best extraction. To preheat the pot, as the water is heating in the kettle, pour a little bit of
the hot water into both the teapot and the serving cups to warm them.

The built in precision temperature gauge on the PerfecTemp Teakettle allows for easy and
accurate reading of water temperature. The indicator pin on the multi-coloured dial will point
to the temperature reading when the water has reached the corresponding temperature.*
Once the water has reached the desired water temperature, remove kettle from hob and
pour into drinking cups, or alternate serving teapot if preferred.
*Both the water temperature and length of steeping time varies by the blend and type of tea
you are brewing. Refer to the Cuisinart PerfecTemp Teakettle Tea Guide for optimal water
temperatures and brewing times.

SERVING TIME

The sleek design and rich porcelain enamelled exterior of your PerfecTemp Teakettle is ideal
for serving direct to table. When serving, ensure you place the hot kettle on a heat resistant
mat before placing on the unit or table.

EASY MAINTENANCE

With normal use, once cooled, dry the interior and exterior of the kettle for a flawless finish.
From time to time, when required, fill the kettle with warm water and washing up liquid
and allow to soak. Use a sponge or soft cloth to remove any remaining residue. Do not
use scouring pads or other metal pads that may cause scratches. Rinse thoroughly and dry
immediately for a flawless finish.
The handle is stainless steel with a silicone grip for added comfort and control. Handle
shape and its angle are designed to minimise heat transfer. Handle will remain cool when
kettle with lid in place is in use on the hob, however, using an oven glove to grip handle
is recommended. Kettle is not oven safe and should not be placed in the oven for any
reason.
Do not wash in dishwasher.

USING OVER A GAS HOB

When using on a gas hob, ensure the flame is concentrated and touches only the kettle
bottom. If the flame extends up the sides of the kettle, energy is wasted and there is a risk
that the sides of the kettle may become permanently discoloured.

CONVENIENT CARE AND STORAGE

Your Cuisinart PerfecTemp Teakettle is a perfect oven-top item and many choose to display
their kettle on the oven-top when not in use. However, if you choose to store your kettle
while not in use, it should be carefully placed on a shelf or in a dedicated cupboard space.
Stacking and crowding in cabinets with other kitchen items may cause scratches.

GUARANTEE INFORMATION

Limited Lifetime Guarantee

Your Cuisinart® PerfecTemp Teakettle is guaranteed to be free of defects in material and
workmanship with normal domestic use from the date of original purchase throughout
the original purchaser’s lifetime. If your tea kettle should prove to be defective within your
lifetime, we will repair or replace it without charge to you.

Enclose your name and address, description of the product problem, phone number, proof of
purchase and any other information pertinent to the product’s return.
Cuisinart will either repair or replace the product, as appropriate.

NOTE: For added protection and secure handling of any Cuisinart® product that is being
returned, we recommend you use a traceable, insured delivery service. Cuisinart will not be
held responsible for in-transit damage or for packages that are not delivered to us. Lost and/
or damaged products are not covered under guarantee.
This guarantee excludes damage caused by accident, misuse or abuse and it does not apply
to scratches, stains, discolouration, minor imperfections, slight colour variations or other
damage to external or internal surfaces which does not impair the functionality of the kettle.
This guarantee also excludes all incidental or consequential damages.
The guarantee is only valid in Australia and New Zealand.
The manufacturer reserves the right to amend terms and specifications without prior
notice.
