IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
1. READ ALL
INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Remove all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers from the appliance before rst use. Do not allow children access to the plastic packaging bags.
3. Do not operate app liance with a
damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions or if it has been dro pped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest Authorized Service Center for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment, or phone Cuisinart Consumer Service at 800 -726-0190.
4. To protect against risk of electric shock, do not put the electric appliance in water or other liquids. This may cause personal injur y and/or damage to the product.
5. To protect against re, do not operate the unit in the presence of explosive and/or ammable fumes.
6. Do not use the electric wine opener
for other than its intended use.
7. This product is intended for normal domestic household use only.
8. When using or charging the electric wine opener, keep your workspace clean and free from potential hazards.
9. For indoor use only. Do not expose the electric wine opener or charging base to rain or other extreme conditions.
10. Never force the electric wine opener onto a bottle or attempt to speed up the mechanism. The electric wine opener will work best when it is operated at its intended speed.
11. Do not touch or adjust the electric wine opener’s mechanism or the corkscrew spiral. Hold the electric wine opener by its housing only.
12. Do not attempt to open bottles if the switch is not working correctly.
13. Do not attempt to open the electric wine opener or the charging base. They have no user-serviceable par ts. Charge the electric wine opener only by using the charging base and power cord supplied.
14. Never remove the plug from the socket by pulling the power adapter.
15. Use of attachments not recommended or sold by Cuisinar t may cause re, electric shock, injury or damage to the product.
16. Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those recommended by Cuisinart. Use only the power adapter supplied with this product.
17. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
18. This appliance should not be used by adults or children whose lack
of experience, product knowledge or disability might cause a hazard, unless they have been correctly instructed and are adequately supervised.
19. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this product.
20. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
21. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall cabinet.When stori ng in an
appliance garage, always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
Not doing so could create a risk of re, especially if the appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it closes.
CAUTION : Corkscrew is sharp. Handle carefully. Keep hands and utensils out of the container while operating to prevent the possibility of severe personal injury and/or damage to the product or property.

3. Lift the wine opener up and away from the bottle. To eject the cork, press the EJECT switch. The spiral will turn in a clockwise direction and release the cork from the wine opener (see Fig. 4).
4. Always return the wine opener to the charging base when done. This will protect the unit while not in use.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
Make sure all the parts are clean and dry before storing.
To clean housing, wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
Never immerse power adapter, charging base or housing in water or any other liquids.
Never submerge the motor base in water or other liquids, or place in a dishwasher.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
AFTER USE
We recommend that you return your appliance to the charging base so that it is fully charged and available for use at any time.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Connection and Use
This appliance is for 120 volts only and should not be used with a converter.
We recommend that you charge your electric wine opener for at least 12 hours before using for the rst time. Please follow the instructions for charging as stated below:
Charging Your Electric Wine Opener
Plug one end of the power adapter into the back of the charging base and the other end into an electrical outlet. Place the electric wine opener into the charging base, making sure that it is rmly in position and that it is fully engaged with the charging connection. The blue indicator light will illuminate. It will take approximately 12 hours to charge your electric wine opener. The charging light will remain blue during the charging process, even when fully charged.
Your wine opener can open approximately 50 bottles of wine on a full charge.
Foil Cutter
For your convenience, this unit has a foil cutter, which can be stored in the base of the unit. Before removing the cork, you must remove foil to expose top part of cork surface (see Fig. 1). Attach foil cutter to the top of the wine bottle. Keep hand on lower part of bottle and turn foil

motion to remove foil. Remove foil to expose top part of cork surface.
CAUTION : Blade on foil cutter is sharp. Please keep ngers away from cutter’s sharp edges.
To Operate Your Electric Wine Opener
Press the REMOVE switch to remove the cork from the bot tle. After the cork has been removed from the bottle, press the EJECT switch to release the cork from the wine opener (see Fig. 2).
1. Place the wine opener on top of the wine bottle, making sure that it remains as straight/upright as possible at all times. If you hold the electric wine opener at an angle to the bottle it will not remove the cork properly.
2. Hold the wine opener and bottle rmly. Press the REMOVE switch. The corkscrew spiral will turn in a counterclockwise direction and enter the cork, gradually removing it from the bottle. When the mechanism stops, the cork has been fully removed from the bottle (see Fig. 3).

This warranty is available to consumers only. You are a consume r if you own a Cuisinart™ Electric Wine Opener that was purchased at retail for personal, family or household use. E xcept as otherwis e required under applicable law, this warranty is not available to retailers or other commercial purchasers or owners.
We warrant that you r Cuisinar t™ Electric Wine Opener will b e free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use for 3 years from the date of origina l purchase. We recommend that you visit our website, www.cuisinart.com for a fast, efcient way to complete your product registration. However, product registration d oes not eliminate the need for the consum er to maintain the original proof of purchase in order to obtain the warrant y benets. In the event that you do not have proof of purchase date, the purchase date for purposes of this warranty will be the date of manufactu re.
If your Cuisinart™ Electric Wine Opener should prove to be defective within the warr anty period, we will repair it, o r if we think nece ssary, replace it. To obtain warrant y service, simply call our toll-free numb er 1-800-726- 0190 for additiona l information from our Cons umer Ser vice Representatives, or se nd the defective product to Consumer Service at Cuisinar t, 7475 North Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, A Z 85307.
To facilitate the speed and accuracy of your return, plea se enclose $10.00 made payable to Cuisinar t for shipping and handling of the product.
Please pay by check or money order made payable to Cuisinart (California residents need only supply proof of purchase and should call 1-800 -726-0190 for shipping instructions).
NOTE: For added protection and secure handling of any Cuisinar t produc t that is being returned, we recommend you use a traceable, insure d delivery service. Cuisinar t cannot be he ld responsible for in-tran sit damage or for packages that are not delivered to us. Lost and/or damaged products are not covered under warranty. Please be sure to include your return address, day time phone number, description of the product defect,
product model number (located on bottom of product), original date of purchase, and any other information pertine nt to the produc t’s return.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY:
California law provides that for In-Warrant y Service, California residents have the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store where it was purchase d or (B) to another retail store that sells Cuisinart pro ducts of the same type.
The retail store shall then, at its discretion, either repair the produc t, refer the consumer to an independent repair facility, replace the product, or refund the purchase pric e less the amount directly attributable to the c onsumer’s prior usage of the product. If the above two options do not re sult in the app ropriate relief to the consumer, the consumer may then take the produc t to an independent repair facility if service o r repair can b e economically accomplished. Cuisina rt and not the consumer will be responsible for the reasonable cost of such service, repair, replacement, or refund for nonconforming products under warranty.
California residents may also, according to their preference, return nonconforming products directly to Cuisinart fo r repair, or if necessary, replaceme nt, by calling our Consumer Service Center toll-free at 1-800-726-0190. Cuisinar t will be responsible for the cost of the repair, replaceme nt, and shipping and handling for such products under warranty.
BEFORE RETURNING YOUR CUISINART PRODUCT
If you are experiencing problems with your Cuisinar t product, we suggest that you call our Cuisinart Service Center at 1-800-726-0190 before returning the product for service. If servicing is needed, a Representative can conr m whether the product is under warranty and dire ct you to the nearest service location.
You r Cuisinar t™ Electric Wine Opener has been manufactured to the strictest specications and has been designed for use only in 120-volt outlets and only with authorized accessories and replace ment par ts. This warranty expressly excludes any defe cts or damages caused by attempted use of this unit with a converter, as well as by use with accessories, replacement parts or repair ser vice other th an those authorized
by Cuisinar t. This warranty does not cover any damage caused by accident, misuse, shipment or other than ordinary household use. This warranty excludes all incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of these damages, so these exclusions may not apply to you. You may also have othe r rights, whi ch vary from state to state.
Important: If the nonconforming pro duct is to be serviced by someone other than Cuisinart’s Authorized Service C enter, please remind the servicer to call our Consumer Ser vice Center at 1-800-726-0190 to ensure that the problem is properly diagnosed, the product is s erviced with the correct parts, a nd the product is still unde r war rant y.
